Truckin'

I haven't forgotten about my commitment to get a ROC meet going in Utah. I've been waiting for the snow in the mountains to melt some more. I'm ready to get serious about picking a date, but want some feedback on what works for people who may be attending a Northern Utah ROC Meet.
T Mac clustered Idaho with the Northwest. That works for the panhandle, but S. Idaho is an area where I hope Ridgeline owners will travel a bit south to join us at our meet. It's open who all who care to make the trip, near or far.
These are my ideas so far: As I've stated before, I'm interested in gaining elevation. I want to get our trucks up into the mountains so we can show them off in some of the incredible scenery around here. In that quest, Harold took me up to Sundance Ski Resort on our way home from Sedona last month. It looked pretty good in the snow so I think it will be spectacular once it greens up a bit. I'm even more intrigued with this as a possible destination because of discovering the Alpine Loop road that goes over to American Fork Canyon from Provo Canyon.
I'm at a clear disadvantage because this is outside of my stomping grounds. Have any of you spent time at Sundance or on the Alpine Loop road? I've done some research online and came up with some information. It appears the Loop road is paved all the way but not open until late May. As a bonus, there is a short dirt road that goes off to Cascade Springs.
Here are some good descriptions of the area and roads:

I'm thinking this would be a good drive to take after we initially meet for lunch. My first idea was to have lunch at Sundance, but after looking at the menus I think it's too pricey. My alternate idea is to meet in Heber City for lunch and then drive up to Sundance. Again, this is outside of my turf and I have no clue about a good place to eat or adequate parking in Heber City. I prefer it over the Orem/Provo area to get all of us out of the city and make it a bit easier for us to stay together.
Please give me feedback on my ideas and make suggestions if you have knowledge in these areas.
Back to the roll call, make your presence and location known by posting here or sending me a PM. I will send out emails in addition to posting on the forum when we get to a firm plan.
