NEED 20 COMMITMENTS TO BUY for 20% OFF:

I'm a relative "newbee" to the ROC. Living in Florida we don't have to have a state license plate on the front. The dealer put his ugly plastic advertising plate on my new Ridgeline. I've been looking for a "classy" license plate to put on the front. I like the heavy gauge Stainless Steel plates - bright mirrored finish with a choice of logo. This will look good on my Billet Silver Ridgeline.

The Ridgeline SS license plate is hard to find, but I did find a company in Florida who sells them. On my first look at their website they did not have the Ridgeline plate displayed, but it was an option on the Honda order entry page. I sent an email and found out that they did not stock the plate, but they did order one (two) and took pictures in their store and sent them to me (see below). Looking through the posts, I see that some of the members have tried to negotiate Group Buys for accessories. Why not give it a try?

Here goes......this is the email I received from the supplier. Note, he's willing to offer the discount for all stuff on his site - - license plate frames, key chains, etc. Go to www.autostuff.com to check it out. I'd love to be able to send him a link to this thread with "hundreds" of commitments to buy from his online store.

Hi Rick,

While I haven't done a group buy for anybody yet, I'm certainly willing to give it a try and see how it turns out.

Here is what I can offer:

If you get 10 commits to buy - I'll take 10% off the order

if you get 15 commites to buy - I'll take 15% off the order

if you get 20+ commites to buy - I'll take 20% off the order

Now, since I don't really have to time to set this up as standard group buy like ensuring you get the required numbers and making sure everybody actually places an order before awarding the discounts, I'm going to make it easy on both of us.

You start a thread to get the required commites to buy, post the pictures and the website address ( www.autostuff.com ) on the ridglineownersclub.com. Once you get the number you are looking for, send me a link to the thread and I will setup a checkout coupon on that site good for the amount agreed to above. I will set a reasonable time limit on the coupon (it will be good for 2~3 days and I can give you notice of when it will go active for you to place orders). As you see there is a bonus to this, in that the discount will be good for any items purchased, not just the ridgline stuff.

As you know I only have the plates in stock that Jennice took pictures of, so if there ends up being a large number of ridline stuff or any one item, the manufacturer may need an extra day to get an order like that filled.

Let me know if your interested and hopefully this will work out well for all.

Thanks a bunch.

Sincerely,
Rob Meehan

Wow...those are sharp. If I was still living in MI (Where they do not have the front plate either), I would order on in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I live in the Land of Cheese (WI), they are way behind the times, and they still require a front plate. Dang! :(

LadyRidge:

You can click on the link in the post and it will take you to their site. They are not cheap - - the Lexus dealer sells them for $49.95 for their vehicles. I saw them at one of the carts in the center of the mall for $39.95 with only the "H" logo on them. They are very heavy (stainless steel) and guaranteed never to rust.

On this site, the base plate is $29.95 and the upcharge for the Ridgeline only (bottom one) is $6.20 (the top one with the H is an upcharge of $13.50). The bottom one with shipping, state of Florida tax, and insurance cost me $45 today when I ordered. The post had 76 hits in the last day with ZERO commitments. I decided I'd get the one he has in stock and be done with it. Really anxious to see how great it will look on my Silver Ridgeline.

Thanks for looking. ;)

I don't know if I'm doing this right but you can count me in for the top image!

...It was worth a shot! I posted this group buy - - and nobody came (with the one exception of "eshuerger").

The post has had 221 views, so it is a pretty good bet that I'm the only nut that wants a stainless steel license plate. I bit the bullet and paid full price for one - $45 with state sales tax (supplier in Florida) and insured shipping.

Installed it Saturday and am posting the pictures below. The company is still in business and you can buy from them using the link in the original post....just won't get the 20% off I was hoping for.

I'm happy:

Thanks LadyRidge.......

Now all I'm waiting on is my dress bars from Brian and the bed mat and truck mats that I ordered last week from Murdock Industries. This ROC place is E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E....and addictive. ;)

OK, give the WI police another reason to stop me?!? No thanks. I have lived in WI for almost 11 years now, have only had the "honor" of dealing with WI finest 2 times, and that is 2 times too many. The WI police must have to pass a$$hole academy before they can become police officers here. One cop tried to put me in jail for a 70 MPH in a 65 MPH zone!

No thanks!!!

If we did not have to have a state plate on the front I would be in. :(

I know this is an old thread, but I've been trying on and off to come up with something a little out of the ordinary.

I'm looking to find someone that would make this for me. Two companies have declined because neither of them were authorized to reproduce the Logo. I'm waiting to hear from a third, who I know is authorized, but I don't know yet if they would or could do it.

If I'm successful, I'll post it.

For those of us that have to have a license plate on both the front and back, would it be possible to get the Ridgeline logo placed on a stainless steel license plate frame? I'd get 2 if that can be done...

Thanks
