IT'S OUR TIME TO MEET.

Frank and Tom have gone to allot of trouble to organize this event.
They went through much planning and even got Honda of Marysville to get really 'stoked' about this event for us.

I saw 100 names that said they would come or that they might come. I have emailed half of you and received a hand full of replies. I really want those of you who can come to make every effort to make this event. You only live once and some of us live shorter than others. I for one would love the chance to give so many of you a hug of thanks for being here on the ROC and being my friend. That may not sound like much but if you were in my heart and knew how I felt about my ROC family giving me therapy for life over the past year, you would understand.

Here is the link (http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/event2006/). It's easy. ( well..after CU had to shake me a bit ). :D

Won't you come?
:p

I am making every effort Ladyridge...

I was one who said I would be interested, and I still am very much so. For me to make it, I'm looking at a 13 hour solo drive each way, which is do-able. But, I have to work all day that Friday and be back to work Monday morning. Can't get the time off.

I will be making every effort possible to attend because I really want to be part of this but it may be a last minute decision for me. Heck, I had a blast at our 3 truck New England mini meet so I am all for meets, anywhere, anytime... Just wonder how in 48 hours I'll be able to drive 26 hours, find time to have fun AND sleep...and not be useless at work on Monday...hahaha Leaving myself wide open there.

No excuses from me... I'll do my best to make this work as I do appreciate the efforts put forth to organize this great event...:D

The thing is... it's so FAR away!
(I didn't say I'd go in the beginning, for that very reason, so I'm not one of the guilty ones. I'm just sad it's so far away....)

It really isn't that bad of a drive. I drive to Detroit for the Auto Show in January from Long Island just so I could report it for the ROC and EOC. :) Did a complete round trip drive in 48 hours plus attended the show for 8+ hours. Left Friday night after work and got home early Sunday morning. Was at work Monday. :)

Best way to travel long distances, especially to large meets is in a group. Sometimes the drives are better than the events especially if everyone has an FRS radio. It keeps you occupied for the sometimes long and boring parts of the drives.

The EOC event this year is in St Louis so a bunch of us from the Northeast will be driving out together and camping in western OH for a night then driving the rest of the way to St Louis.

Thanks Larry.... Good to know.
As a hard core Ridgejunkie, I really, really, really want to be there. Even if it's just long enough to get a t-shirt. :D

We will be making reservations next week, possibly this weekend. I start a new job (retirement is now officially over) on Monday so I will need to get my bearings. We can only arrange to arrive late Friday night and stay all day Saturday then drive home on Sunday. We will be there for Saturday unless something happens between now an then that prevents it.

Hello to everyone,

I'm quite new here but my Ridgeline is officialy a year and 22,000 miles old.

I officially signed up to be on this meet as well as booked my Hotel between July 25-30, 2006.

I and my wife are expecting our first baby girl on June 29, 2006, I suppose at 3-4 weeks old come July 29 she will be one of the youngest Ridgeliners to attend this meet.

I planned for a 6 day stay in Ohio (as part of my one month Paternity leave
) because I'm oficially on vacation (aka babysitting leave). I was checking out the Carolinas and Canada, when I saw this meet on the forum. I wanted to attend the past meets but a 10 hour drive is my cutoff. Fortunately for me Ohio is only 7 hours away.

To whoever is in charge, please delete the other confirmation number because I received two: ROC2006-53 and ROC2006-52.I had some problems earlier paying with paypal but it's all good now.

To those living in Ohio, can you suggest a couple of must visit places (broadwaylike stage plays if there are any).Parks, etc. I'm open to any suggestions.

Thank you in advance for all the responses.

What a way to get broke into this group of Ridgeline lovin' ROC heads.

Welcome, welcome, welcome. We are so glad you joined us.
There are a few new Mom's and Mom's to-be in this family and we welcome you and yours with open arms.

As for places to visit, I would think Frank ( Ridgeln ) would be the expert at that one. He is very helpful and will give you the best places to go.

Again, welcome to the ROC family.
Enjoy the ride.

Thanks ladyridge.

Any one here in Maryland who has a retrax cover for his Ridgeline? I just realized I needed one now that the baby is coming and I need more storage space at the back for the stroller and and who knows what else. It would not be a problem if I go to this Ohio meet on my Honda Pilot.:D :D :D , but that would be weird.I wanted to see one first, open and close it a few times before jumping into the bandwagon.

Anyone with a leer cap too? Am undecided between the two coz some say a cap seriously limits ones rear vision but would provide a humongous amount of space but sacrifices the truck look in the process.

Weird, but I just realized that this Ohio trip is getting more expensive than I thought. However, it is a perfect excuse to my wife to get one more accessory after splurging on a tow and hitch, bug deflector, under bumper brush, roofrack, foglights, auto dimming mirror, and sidesteps. So much for eliminating my credit card balance this month.:o

MarylandRidge, here are some events:

Ohio Theatre (downtown Columbus): Summer Movie series (Classic films on big screen): $3.50 per seat
The Spiral Staircase (July 26-28)
The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly (July 29-30)

Also, July 28 & 29, The Ohio State University Marching Band will join the Columbus Symphony Orchestra for an outdoor concert, "Picnic with the Pops", held near the OSU campus. 8:00PM, $18 adult, $11 child (age 3-12)

I'm not sure if there are any "theatre" productions going on/visiting that weekend.

Hope this helps!

Man......

I am most likely moving that weekend but we'll see what happens, getting relocated :( :)

I live right by Alum Creek Dam (campgrounds that LadyRidge listed) and recommend those campgrounds to anyone interested. The places listed on the RidgeRun homepage are spots that I'd recommend hitting as well.

Columbus Zoo
Franklin Park Conservatory
COSI
Dublin Rec Center
Union County Fair

For broadway here's a link that might help you. It lists the primary venues in Cols though it looks like only Ohio Theatre really has something going that weekend as Amazon pointed out.

http://www.capa.com/columbus/events/

And another good link for things going on in Columbus that weekend (sorry, couldn't figure out the site and you'll have to punch the dates in yourself)

http://www.experiencecolumbus.com/calendar_of_events.cfm

You can also request a visitor's pack from the same site:

http://www.experiencecolumbus.com/visitor_guide_request.cfm?nav=t

Lastly it seems there's another car convention that weekend. If you were planning on staying downtown this will make it tougher as car conventions in Cols are a big deal.
