Hi everyone. I am new to this site. What a great resource. I got my RLS about six weeks ago. The first thing I did was to research how to integrate my iPod without using an FM modulator. And, I wanted to retain full control from the iPod itself. Further, I wanted to still have CD changer and XM functionality. After much research, I finally found a solution. Forgive me if this info has already been posted elsewhere.
Click here (http://mp3yourcar.com/productdetails.asp?type=FACTORY&make=Honda&model=Ridgeline&carYear=2006&productID=714) to visit the site that sells what you need. You need to order the "21145 - Neo iOnAux" product. You will also need a Honda Harness Converter although I don't think it is the same one that is listed at the bottom of the page. My order receipt references item number "CBL HD2" for the Honda Harness Converter. The product works perfectly. You retain full control of the iPod via the steering wheel controls or through the head unit. And, the iPod itself retains full functionality, so you can select songs, etc. from the iPod as well. The only catch is that the songs, etc. do not show up on the stereo display, but that's no big deal. The company ships for free and there is no tax. Rather than ordering on the website (which has not been updated with current information, according to the rep I dealt with), call 800-505-0931 x116. You will most likely speak to Tim Donegan. Just explain that you want to retain full functionality of you stock head unit and reference the parts that I mentioned. He'll get you what you need.
By the way, if you don't care about losing XM functionality, you don't need the harness converter. One last thing...there is an auxiliary output that you can run an RCA cable from. So, if you have a portable DVD player or anything else with a small headphone output, it will patch into your stereo with this product. Very cool.
Send me a private message in you have any questions.
