reker13 05-24-2006, 10:11 AM Upgraded from a AudioControl EQS. It sounds amazing! The EQ in the OEM CD player has some real nasty EQ curves. Like a big ole smiley face. :D
You can check it out here (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2192945).
I wrote a short review here (http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROC3SIXTY1).
Wow, really nice install and thanks for the review. I have been on the fence between the 3sixty and the cleansweep and this has encouraged me to go with the 3sixty. Great job:D
bigred1 05-26-2006, 04:57 AM great install!!!
StickyC 06-04-2006, 11:03 AM For those that're hot to see what the 3Sixty's tweakability is like, it turns out you can DL the Palm app from Rockford Fosgate's web site and run it in demo mode w/out the actual unit. I didn't realize the 3Sixty.2 was so much more powerful than the 3Sixty.1. No wonder it's an extra 3 bills.
reker13 06-07-2006, 02:48 PM Thanks guys. Once rockford releases the Windows Mobile version of the software, I'll find out what EQ curves are built into the Ridgeline OEM radio. This can be done by running the calibration and looking at the before/after eq curves.
If the factory radio has differing eq curves at different volume levels, and I'm pretty sure it does, I can run the calibration tool at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% volume levels.
At any rate, I can defintley confirm a integration solution such as the 3sixty or cleansweep will make a HUGE difference in sound quality over a standard passive LOC or even a quality eq like the Audiocontrol EQS.
In fact, I'd like to see the 3sixty compared to a quality aftermarket deck (like Eclipse) as the DSP inside the 3sixty is awesome as is its preamp section. According to a Rockford Engineer, the output is closer to 7volts RMS. Compare that to any of your 4volts out MAX head units out there!

StickyC 09-16-2006, 04:39 PM Okay, so I'm trying to install one and am running into a kink - For some reason, it's not detecting the sub output at all. I know there's a signal on the speaker wires, but no matter what gain I set on the 3Sixty, there's no blue light. I tried connecting it to the center, just to see if there would be a signal indicator there and it showed up for a few milliseconds and went dark.
I'm thinkin I've got a bum 3Sixty, or I'm missing something....
Did those of you who installed it have to jump through any weird hoops?
Also, does it matter if the amp inputs are connected for the 1st track sweep test? It's way too damn loud, even with the amp levels cranked all the way down. (JL 500/5).
hofffam 09-17-2006, 08:35 AM Nice work reker....
The 3Sixty is an impressive device. I still don't think the factory hu is worth saving if you don't have the NAV. If the factory hu was Nakamichi or Mark Levinson, that would be a different story.
reker - I'm not being critical. Your install is very good and I like your choice of components.
It's clear to me many like the factory look. I don't value that very much - especially if I can start with a clean unprocessed audio signal.
reker13 09-19-2006, 10:46 AM StickeyC - Not sure what your problem is. Just follow the setup instructions very carefully in exact order. (try again) Contact your dealer if you can't get it to work. The setup should be pretty straight forward.
Hofffam - Keeping the 'stock' look was my primary objective only 2nd to great sound. In all honesty, I can not hear any major difference between the 3sixty and a NICE aftermarket deck. Therefore, the only thing I had to gain is the aftermarket look which was not a objective. The 3sixty can be easily added to another vehicle later on while an aftermarket deck maybe/maybe not. No offence taken, just different goals I guess.
Thanks for the replies guys.
RTSrookie 09-19-2006, 11:31 AM Loving it..
Keep posting any MODs you do. I love these threads!

No offense intended of course. I wasn't after the aftermarket look either. But since the factory hu didn't play MP3s (and Honda's costs a stupid amount of money) and I preferred to avoid extra signal processing, hence I replaced the headunit. I don't think my Alpine looks particularly good BTW, but it sounds good. I'm beginning to think about a non-NAV double DIN now......
reker13 09-21-2006, 10:51 AM The 3sixty volume control in the pocket under the factory radio can serve as a master volume control or bass level control. As far as mp3s, yea the factory radio does not do that, however, a IPOD like device can be connected thru the 3sixty aux input. Simply push the volume control on the 3sixty and it switches inputs. Note the 3.5mm plug in my dash pocket.
Pretty slick. Unfortunatly, volume suffers on the aux input. I'm guessing the output voltage from an IPOD is not great enough to feed the 3sixty so volume is only 30% of that compared to regular CD. Maybe rockford will fix this with a firmare update?
StickyC 09-29-2006, 07:36 PM Well I finally got it working with a little help from the RF forums - turns out the Nav amp has a protection circuit in it and shuts down if there's too much (not enough?) load across the inputs. To get it to work, I had to bridge the sub inputs with a 68ohm resistor.
I must say, after running through the setup, it's a night and day difference between running the 3Sixty and just straight speaker-level-converters. I do wish I had the remote crossover control that the 3Sixty.2 includes, but at almost twice the price, I'll deal with taking the seat out and fiddling with the amp directly :)
ONTHEVERGE 09-29-2006, 08:30 PM Interesting.
biggesthonda 09-29-2006, 11:47 PM Just got my 360.2 , it goes in tomorrow, so a 68ohm resistor, is the resistor polarity specific? or could you post the link to the rf forum article, i tried to search for it but i came up empty handed.
Thanx

Resistors are not polarity specific. The RF forum article is here: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=25890. I discovered that 68ohm resistors are not terribly common - I live in Silicon Valley and had to hit 3 electronics shops before I found some (even Frys was out).
This issue was only on the sub output, so if your truck has the non-subwoofer stereo (all non-RTL/nav trucks?), you don't have to worry about it. The 3Sixty will take the full range front inputs and create a perfectly fine sub channel.
Some other tips - You dont really need the amp hooked up until after the 3Sixty configuration is complete - the sweep tone used for calibrating the input levels is not something you want to be blasting around your neighborhood :) Once you've done the input levels and the OEM calibration, then you can hook up the amp and do the final amp level adjustments. Since you're getting the 3Sixty.2, you dont even need to mess with the crossover adjustments on the amp, just disable them.
The manual was a little confusing, there's a "if you're doing A, continue to page 11" in very small type that I missed the first few times around.
Mounting-wise, I had to locate mine under the dash all the way to the right of the glovebox. The RTL's XM tuner is behind the seat where Rekr13 put his. It ended up being a little handier location as I could see the LEDs for re-running the setup (bad design on RF's part - requiring visual access to the device for remote setup).
biggesthonda 09-30-2006, 12:20 PM One more question...Are the colors of the resistor ( i had to buy the bulk pack) blue, silver, black, gold? I want to be sure thanx

Yessir. There's a handy-dandy calculator here: http://www.webcalc.net/calc/0231.php
biggesthonda 09-30-2006, 11:38 PM finished 360.2 install man it sounds GREAT..., i got 3 dayton 8" under the rear seat and one 8" illusion audio in a sealed enclosure molded into the lower map pocket (bottom of dash) image is awesome. Front sub really pulls bass together with front stage. Got to some detail work to do now (texture paint SEM) Pics to follow as it is too late...
imnfni 10-06-2006, 08:57 AM do you have any pics?
