i just purchased a demo ridgline build date of 9/05
when the car is put in park only the drivers door unlocks.
i have read a ton today about it,what i need clarity on is my manual says to turn on auto unlock,to turn off auto unlock ect...it lists no option on how to set it for unlocking all doors (if mine is able to do it)
i would like to try and hit what codes people are doing to see if it atleasts works before seeing the dealer.
my vin number 2HJYK16566H003085
thanks for any help

Sometime during 9/05 Honda fitted the A12 box as standard.
To see if yours has it, follow these steps:

Turn the ignition on, but do not start the engine.
Press the door lock button to unlock, then hold it for 5 seconds, hear a click, continue holding until the second click.
Turn the ignition off within 5 seconds
Viola - all door unlock is functioning. Start the vehicle, put it in drive, lock the doors and then put it in Park to see it they unlock.

I was in the same boat. Sometime in 8/05 they switched to the A12 fuse box that will unlock all doors. Had the A12 box installed by the dealer @ no charge and now it works as it should.....

I would contact your dealer for the swap.

I ended up with Honda customer service goodwilling the swap to the A12 fusebox on my RTL. Now all the doors unlock! Yea - no more kids yanking on handles that didn't open until I hit the locks.

Honda ServiceNews documentation that I got with the swap has the following info:

RT - all door unlock from VIN...H540234

RTS/RTL - all door unlock from VIN...H540774

thanks for the help.
i tried but never heard a second click at all (after about 45 seconds i stopped waiting )
i tried several times,so i am assuming that do not have the option on mine.
i swung by the dealership today and they gave me a blank look, basically saying they had no idea what i was talking about.
i think i will try calling honda canada and see if i can get anything going this way
thanks again

i wrote this on another post, but i am new at these board things and don't know how to tell you to find it.....if you vehicle locks the doors at 9mph, instead of when you take it out of park, you must first change that.....
to do that you put the vehicle in park. turn the key to position II. hold the front of the lock button down. it will click almost immediately. keep holding it down untill you hear another click(it seemed like almost a minute when i did it). turn your key to the off position within 5 seconds of the second click.
now, repeat the steps above holding the back side of the switch (as if you were unlocking). you have now disabled the lock doors at 9mph function, and reprogrammed the locks to lock and unlock when shifting in and out of park......the all door unlock feature will not work if you use the lock at 9mph feature....

hope this helps....i figured it out after my service dept looked at me like i was crazy because i wouldn't order a $250.00 module that they said i needed to get this to work......sue

p.s....mine was also produced in 9/05
