I just installed a aftermarket HU in the RL. Went from RT stock HU to double DIN Kenwood DDX 7017 with XM radio, Back-up Camera, Dual Zone DVD, Nav system. Upgrades still available are HD radio and broadcast TV, and iPod link. Looks great! :D Pics to come. Very easy install with the huge HU area in the dash. Very easy double DIN conversion kit that looks like factory work, although I wish it was the interior grey instead of the darker grey, but still looks good. One question is, anyone that has replaced the HU and installed a XM antenna, Where did you put the antenna? I have mine on the driver side exterior lower corner of the windshield. I would rather it be on the roof. Any advice on placement would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

I installed a Pioneer AVIC-D2 with XM in my RT; put my XM antenna in the same place. I don't want any magnetic-mount antennas on my roof; they just scratch up the paint and make it more difficult to wash and wax.

I used the post here:

to install my xm antenna on the roof. Had it on the dash and it was loosing signal a little too much. On the roof - perfect reception!

What Brand Dash Kit did you use?

Mobile06, I used the Scosche Double DIN Ridgeline dash kit (HA1579B). It was very simple to install and looks almost factory. I just wish that the color matched the grey interior that I have. I have the light grey interior and it is a dark grey/charcoal color but still looks great. Pictures are coming soon.
Thanks
