I am very excited about my truck but I am electronically challenged. I have RTL with Navi and note the AUX jack for the system.

What wire do I need to get to connect my I-pod to the system????

Thanks for the help.

WFZone you can probably get the cable at Radio Shack or any electronics retailer ie. Circuit City, Best Buy. I too have the RTL w navi, I am planning on picking up a cable for my iPod tonight. I most likely will go the more expensive route and get it from the Apple store in the mall (have a gift cert).

My Ridge has the NAVi and the AUX input as well. My wife uses her IPod in My truck whenever we drive together (she got one for Valentines - Im still living off getting the Ridge last year:))

Anyway you need a regular stereo extension (like you would use for your headphones) cable but with a Male Jack on both sides. Just plug it into your IPod on one side and the AUX on the other and away you go.

Not to dissapoint you but the IPOD interface does not apperar on the NAVi screen nor can you manipulate the IPOD menu from the NAVi screen - Its sound only - Good sound but just sound. Also this setup does not charge the IPod so be sure to have an alternate means of charging it for long trips ( I have an Cigarrette lighter adapter to AC that I use to plug my goodies into on the road - Thats a different thread.)

You need a cable with 1/8 inch stereo male connectors on both ends. Radio Shack sells these for $4.99 in 1 ft and 6 ft. (maybe other lengths too). Part number 42-2497 is the 1ft. length. 42-2387 is the 6ft. length. If you insist on spending lots more go to Best Buy or buy Monster (or similar). The sound will not be better. With this hookup you will select music from the ipod. The ipod volume control also will have effect.
