Music Link Not Charging iPod Battery?

I have noticed that after using the Music Link with my iPod for a while, when I take it out the battery level is down. I thought this thing was supposed to charge the iPod's battery, not drain it. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a problem with the Music Link, or possibly the installation? Or is it something I am doing wrong? Thanks!
