Juat installed the factory trailer hitch harness today, after testing the rear socket I have no power at the electric brake outlet of the 7 pin socket. I have no power at the backup lights eighter but I no why, my truck was manufactured with only a 10 pin connector under the dash but we won't go there now can anybody help me please? I no that they sent me a sub harness with the total package and that you need a brake controller that will mount under the dash is this the reason why?

Power is only sent to the electric brake outlet when activiated by the brake controller. The only way to test that circuit is to have the controller intstalled. With some controllers you also have to have the connector from the trailer plugged in.
