Just bought this GPS and for the money $287 shipped I think it's a good deal!! The screen is 3.5 inches and is touch screen and voice-prompted directions. Comes with 128MB SD memory card but if you do a lot of traveling you might want to buy a bigger memory card.
First GPS I ever had, so I'm still learning what all it can do for me.
Anyone else have this model?

No, but I was looking at Garmin GPS systems for my mom. Do you like it so far?

I havent taken any long trip with it but will show gas stations, food, hotels that are local or on the way when selected. My boys like it when it give voice directions! I just order a 1GB SD memory card for it for $25 so I can put all of the southeast on it. The only bad part is that the sun washes out the screen sometimes. Bought it online at outpost.com, they have the best price I have seen.

I just picked up the Lowerance IWay 350c (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BB5T2M/102-5331938-8703362?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=172282) for 350ish (now there's a $50 rebate so it would be $325 off Amazon.com).
Anyway it comes with a 4 gig hard disk loaded with the Navteq Oct 05 maps and POI database and seems to work pretty well. It also doubles as an MP3 player.
I've only had it for a week and this particular one does have a problem right out of the box with its internal battery charging circuit but I have a replacement arriving on monday. The navigation seems reasonable utilizing it for routes I already know well and it connects pretty quickly and is WAAS enabled. Rerouting is also very fast. The only navigation feature I dont like is that is does not audibly tell you when you miss a turn, it just recalculates the new route. I like the type where you get a audible confirmation when you folow the correct directions or a warning when you dont.
Search my username and garmin for my comments in other threads, but I'm a big fan of their stuff and have used it for awhile. Drove from Boston to Phoenix last year with one of their 2610's leading the way and 3 days later I was there. Wasn't sure where 'there' was but I dd know the area like a local cause when I typed find _____ it found it :)
I've since upgraded to a 2720 and have even more awesome things to say about it. Close friend has a new Nuvi and that thing amazes me as well .
Garmin makes a very good product, they rank high on the list of ssg-approved devices ;)
