ChrisM 06-14-2006, 09:58 PM Has anyone seen this roof rack accessory on a RL? I was in a Honda Dealership in Columbus Ohio yesterday and came across a page in an accessory book that I had never seen. I don't think I have seen anyone mention it here or have seen it anywhere else until I googled it up. I think that this looks really nice. I would think I could mount some driving lights on the front of it as well. Below the pic are the Honda part numbers for everything you see along with prices.

1293025 001 1 HARDWARE KIT NO COLOR $58.58
1293026 002 1 TIE DOWN, LUGGAGE NO COLOR $75.75
852921 NI 1 LUGGAGE BASKET NO COLOR $343.40
PS. Just went to H and A's site and they carry it but there isn't a picture. Their price is much lower than what I listed but I don't think their price includes the hardware kit. but it does include the net.
Grandpa 06-16-2006, 10:52 PM I bought this with my truck and they just installed it on Wednesday. I had an hour drive to get home and the noise from it drove me crazy, my ears were popping all the way home. I never planned to leave it on all the time, so I took it off when I got home (4 screws to loosen). I have never had a roof rack before and so I never knew about the noise they add, but this was much worse than I ever expected. Maybe it will change when you put something in it. It comes with a cargo net and 2 tie downs. I think it looks nice, but if I knew about the noise, I probably wouldn't have bought it. I am tempted to put something in it and drive around town just to see if I would ever consider using it on a trip.
kanji 06-16-2006, 11:44 PM you'll probably get use to it and tune it out. i sometimes leave the back window open and i just tuned it out and gotta remember to close it when i get out.

Only in the same accessory brochure where you probably saw it. However, there's some "bolt-on" alternatives, the best of which is probably the Yakima LoadWarrior pictured below. btw, Eastern Mountain Sports http://www.ems.com/catalog/assortment_racks.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1408474 396003375&emssrcid=022107A presently has this on sale for 20% off the $315 MSRP.
ChiTownRidge 02-23-2007, 12:21 AM To avoid the loud wind noise, you could get a basket thing that attaches to the tow hitch.
MoosePond 02-23-2007, 07:57 AM On further investigation, it apears that the OE basket is actually a rebadged Thule #695 Xpedition. For those who want more of an "offroad/Baja" look it appears that the Thule#690 M.O.A.B. (Mother Of All Baskets, pictured below) should also fit our trucks. Am considering either one of these or the Yakima LoadWarrior but it would definitely mean I'd no longer be able to get my RL into the garage due to the added height.

I purchased one of these from etrailer.com (http://www.etrailer.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=E&Product_Code=ETC-X12&Category_Code=CC2) to use as a cargo carrier and really like it. it folds up and can be stored in the bed until needed. It's much easier to handle then the traditional cargo carriers. The product quality and the finish are both excellent.

P.S. I have absolutely no affiliation with etrailer.com or Everthere... :)

All of the hardware shown in the instructions http://www.HandA-Accessories.com\ridgeline\basket.pdf comes from Honda in the main kit.

MoosePond 03-26-2007, 10:28 AM Here's how mine looks with the Yakima LoadWarrior installed. Definitely adds some wind noise (not noticeable with moon roof closed and radio on) but very easy to install and gives you added storage for up to 85 pounds of "stuff".

man you talk about NOISE!? I was transporting an extension ladder a few months ago, hauled it around on my Passport no problem...something about the Ridgeline, that thing started whistling (holes in the rungs) like crazy...I stopped a couple of times - moved the ladder, swapped ends...nothing - was on the interstate for about 45 minutes...it was hitting a pitch that felt like it was centered right between my ears....It was actually making me dizzy and nauseaous....I finally pulled off, found a store, bought duct tape and covered up all the wholes...quieted right down....
PS - what's that white stuff?

Well, you see, we have some regional cliimatic conditions up here in the northestern corner of the country where rainfall is occasionally frozen into beautiful and unique crystalline structures before it reaches the ground! We call it SNOW. Much more interesting than mere raindrops - plus you can walk when it's falling without getting wet. Pretty cool, huh?

I bought a can of expanable foam. Sprayed it in the end of each rung, and trimmed it neat when it dried. No more noise with those ladders!

I am truly shocked that you would think I would stoop to such a low trick just to show off a new mod!

EEE-yuk! I heard about that stuff....keep it "up there". Currently 85 degrees here, partly cloudy with a gentle sea breeze.
Beau222 03-28-2007, 11:49 PM It does add noise but for the simplicity on and off makes it work. Its compatable with my RL and the wifes Pilot.
