Mid-Atlantic Meet: Location Poll

I think it's time to start planning a Meet and Greet for us Mid-Atlantic members. Lets start on location.

I can set up a BBQ at my house, for a stop to the casinos. I live 9 miles from AC right off the AC expressway.

Not a problem, I have two smokers and 2 grills, I am used to doing cook outs for at least 100 people at a time. Maybe we could get everyone to chip in like 5 bucks for food it would be good

October is too far away, lets plan on the 3rd week of July bbq if we can. Then do an October meet, we need to catch up.

I can go along with that.....my wife makes her schedule a month in advance so it would be luck of the draw on the weekends. She gets two off a month. July and Oct. would be great!!!!

Honestly, brich, I was considering joining in until you guys announced your date. My step-son is getting married on that day. Otherwise you could bet my blue would be adding some color to your event. :D

Congrats jsant01 on the new addition to your family! We should still do an October meet somewhere.

Agreed, jgal. We need to work on it more. I'll do what I can to keep it alive.

Hez can't make our meet cuz her sister is getting married that day too.. I suggested moving the wedding up to the mountain...:eek:

I was aware of the Hez's wedding plans the day you announced the date. I was disappointed for her as well as myself, but afterall it is a New England meet, and I'm sure there will be others to attend.

As you know, if and when us Middies get together, you would be most welcome.

Can someone update date/place of this thread. I guess I'm easily confused because I can't really tell if this happened in July or is happening in October. If it's in October I would be very interested. Thanks, FirstShirt

I agree, jgal3200. As you can see from the poll the possible location choices are evenly split. So I'm pretty much up in the air about where to have it. I know I'll be in Cape May at least twice in October, as we go down quite frequently. Maybe when I decide to go down I'll post it and see who's available and would like to join us. Or, if someone else comes up with a suitable location I'd be interested in that as well. I know eaglesno1 has offered to stage it at his place outside of Atlantic City, it's just that I don't feel right putting someone out like that. We should all be able to enjoy the day without having to "work it".

Any suggestions?

jsant01, I'd be very interested if it's not late Oct. I head up north hunting at the end of Oct.:)

I'll attend if the date doesn't conflict with anything for me but the sooner the date is firm and set the better.

Create a poll with 4 dates in October and have everyone select all the dates that they will be able to attend. The date that gets the most votes is obviously the best.

As far as location, figure that out later. AC or Cape May doesn't matter, they are not too far apart.

I like Kepeli's idea with the date poll, best chance of getting as many people as possible. I will be away the first weekend in Oct.7-8, but any weekend after I'll be there. Cape May would be my first choice but whatever is decided is all good.......

I agree the date poll would probably work best. Then we can figure out where to have it.

Here's the deal, I'm going to try to post a combo poll for date and location. I don't necessarily see the point establishing a date if we can't agree on a location, but I'm willing to try anything. Look for it soon.
