Everyday I start my Ridge in the garage, put it in reverse, back out on the road, put it in drive, and move forward. At about 5 mph I hear and fell in the floorboard a solid bang, and then at 8-9 mph the door lock. I can repeat this the first time each morning. I left it over night at the Honda dealership to repeat the noise. It never happens. The dealer has suggested its the brake pads shifting because I go from reverse to drive after it sits overnight. He also suggest I park facing the other direction to see if I can repeat the noise. I will give it try and post later......anyone else?

This has been covered before....try a search.
If I remember correctly.....its has to do with the VSC system.....

Thanks.....I do recall the front end noise on various threads.......they seem to get harder to locate as the site grows.....but I will look into the VSC....

I have this same exact noise with my Ridgeline. I called the dealer and they said it was the VSC. I turned it off and it still made the same noise. I confused as to why the engineers would allow something like this to occur?

well they are kinda right in saying its the vsa but in reality it is the abs pump motor doing its first initial check. the noise is always more present when the vehical sit for more then 8 hours. this is a normal operating charictoristic of the vehical, driven many and they all do it.:)
