Howling noise

MY truck is making a strange howling noise, this happens when the truck is turned off and lasts for approx 1 to 3 minutes.Any clue?

Can you describe it in any more detail? like do you hear it when standing outside/inside/both, front, back, under the hood, middle, high or low location? etc.

The only "Howling" I've heard usually happens when I pull-up and there are a lotta people around.
Followed by cheering, applause, and comments like "COOL Truck!!!". ;)

That would be my guess. Easy enough to check. While it's making the noise open the gas cap and see if it immediately stops.

I think it might be the electric fan.

I had a really bad squeaking noise in the engine compartment of my 1987 Dodge Dakota. Turns out a mouse had build a nest on my engine block. The dirtly little beasts also gnawed on the spark plug wires.
