Mine was cracked, and Retrax said it was caused by a chemical poocess they use whem attaching the lexan to the foreward aluminum channel.THIS INSTALL IS FOR THE LEXAN COVER ONLY.....NOT THE RAILS. IF YOU HAVE A DEFECTIVE COVER THEY ONLY SHIP YOU THE LEXAN COVER.
Not an easy replacement install. Both foreward and rear stops had to be removed so the cover would slide out of the rails. Also the lock mechanism had to be removed. The cover still wouldnt slide out, because the aluminum channel (foreward) was wider than the rear of the bed at the sides.
The new cover has narrower width channels, and slid in easily. after installing the lock mechanism, the rear stop presented a problem, in that it is installed from the back side of the left rear rail bracket. I figured it out, and after that it was a piece of cake.
Any body who needs a little verbal help with th replacement install, i would be glad to help
