My 8 year old was nice enough to play "she loves, she loves me not" with the two cup holder flaps in the rear middle arm rest. I am in need to replace them as the drinks will not stay in the shallow holes. Any ideas?
So... did you tell her you still love her? Ya better! When I was a kid, I "painted" my Dad's porch "for him". He was initially pretty mad... but saw thru my inability to my "intention".
The Beverage Holder Tab Assy has been the subject of a recent "Service Bulletin" (#06-033). I think there's a post on another thread here somewhere that has a link to a pdf file.
The Bev Tab assy's part no: 83409-SJC-A01, H/C 8452831
good luck,
Frank
the .pdf file is 370kb so it won't upload here... pics take it over the limit i suppose.
the pdf includes instructions how to replace the assy.
you might want to call the dealer... maybe they'll do it for nothin'.
here's the link to csimo's thread :

That one is for the front assembly....
I haven't seen one on the rears...
Maybe check the Handa site for more info??

 You're right, CUinaRidge, and they DO appear to be a different part entirely. (I went out and checked my RL)
Sorry if I steared ya down the wrong path, Mike T.
I missed the "rear middle arm rest" part of your question. :o
Ya think the dealer may have more info regarding these foam inserts? They seem to be made from the same material as the front ones, so I doubt they're immune to the tearing problem...
I didn't check H and A's site.
Mike, temporarily, if you have any of those foam "bottle cozies" in the house, you may want to try putting one of those in the hole to heighten the wall and to make it better sized to fit drinks. You might have to cut it down some. I thought I had a couple in the cupboard, but can't find them to check the size. One had a bottom, and one didn't.
good luck.

I have 2 young passengers with me in the back most of the time and we never use that center arm rest for drinks - just too prone for spilling, with or without the tabs working. I have them use the door cup holders, which are deep and very stable and things have worked out fine for staying spill free.

Here are two options I found posted here on the ROC from another thread.
But they do have their shortcomings and disadvantages. :(
