WOW!!! What a great trip... Wish you made it to New England. As a kid my parents took us on a similar trip. A 6 week drive to Cali and back. A highlight in my life. I can not wait to follow your progress. As if you wouldn't, take LOTS of pics. Love to see them. Good luck with your trek and please keep us updated as allowed....
Safe journeys!! :D

Oh, and welcome to the ROC !!!! :D

What trailer model is it?
What's the GVWR of the trailer?
How many passengers, and what is their estimated weights?

Hey MicroMagic: I'm just now working on my RTL deal, but offer this suggestion. Please consider shooting a letter to Honda USA, tell them your planned travels, and maybe work an arrangement. I know some folks here in Seattle that develop these mini video internet campaigns for corporate clients. It's not my field, but you are the real deal, and have the "video content" from a live field trip experience with the "Ridge on the Road". Or maybe some ROC folks can get you linked up. I think your road trip would offer most excellent promotional stories for the Ridge, and HONDA would love to have your road stories as video clips on their web site, I think!!

I pull a 6x12 lawn trailer and man on some hills around here the motor is reving at 4.5k. I'm curious on how it does for you. i would contact Honda about your trip. Maybe you can get gas money out of them.

Have fun!

Good luck on your trip. I am going to pull a 18 1/2 foot boat and trailer form Nashville to the north side of Chicago this week. This will be my first attemp at towing. I am looking forward to it.

Sounds like a wonderful trip Micromagic. We've been to all but a few of the places you are going to visit so if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. When you go to Mt. Rushmore be sure and see the Crazy Horse Monument too. It is awesome. The drive through Custer State Park is well worth it too. If you haven't made camping plans for there yet I highly recommend Rafter J Bar Ranch near Hill City, one of the nicest campgrounds we have visited. They have a website.
We just returned from a 4100 mile trip to Canada and the Black Hills towing a 3500 lb. folding trailer. We averaged 14.5 mpg with a large percentage of it being through mountains and hills.

Dude, are you stealing my boat? :D I live in Nashville and have a similar size boat that I plan to start towing (my hitch was supposed to come Sat. thanks FedEx) when I get through my break in. Please post how your trip goes. I plan to pull my boat about 1200 miles round trip to Richmond, VA.
