Any word on the new dealer incentives?
I know they were offering a $2000 dealer incentive, but that was over on 7/5/06.
I have been negotiating with 2 dealers...one of them told me the "one-time deal" he offered me ended when the incentive ended on 7/5. Of course, he called me and said he might be able to still do that "one-time deal" again, depending what kind of incentives Honda is giving. He told me he would find out today or Saturday, just curious if anybody here has heard anything.

After Checking on Edmunds.com it does not appear that there are any incentives right now for 2006 or 2007 Ridgelines. This may change here shortly, as in the past when the incentives would expire and were then renewed, Edmunuds would take a few days to update. Good Luck.

My local dealers have zero 06's on the lot!!!!! If you want one from this area it looks like your going to have to get the 07

Wow, most of the dealers around me have all 06's, I've only seen one '07 as when my wife and I were shopping for a Civic, I picked out the Nimbus Gray RTL/NAVI - pretty sharp color.

Not sure on Ridgelines, but you can try and ask for the tier program of $3,000.00
This started July first I know for fact on pilots, as we just picked one up. they were very po'd that I knew of this and demanded to know how I found out:D I did not tell them, but the guy at the acura dealer told us as we were checking out the MDX as well.
What this is for is a Honda incentive based on volume sales for the month, more pilots they sell, they get up to 3K at the end of month from Honda, if they do well.
Edmunds does not list this, and 2 dealers were stunned that I knew of it:cool: One dealer refused to give up his free and clear cash so I went to one that did. With this program we picked up an EX-L w/nav pilot for $28,700 including destination
Paid invoice minus 3K..
Dosent hurt to ask on the ridgeline...Good luck & let us know if they offer it on the ridge....best chance is to tell them another dealer told you they have it on RL's....then they should budge on it. Worst they can say is you were mis informed that it is only on the pilot

Does anyone know if this works on other Honda vehicles or not? We're looking to pickup a Civic Navi and this might be very helpful, despite the fact these Civics are nearly impossible to find.

Put it this way, it would be shocking for prices on 2006 models to go up as the 2007's are coming in. Combined with sagging sales of larger vehicles in the U.S. and Canada due to fuel costs, I cannot imagine the strategy of Honda is to sell fewer of the vehicles they have already manufactured.
Therefore, logically, the $2000 incentive will be maintained or increased as we get into the summer and fall.
In reality, a new pricepoint has been established for Ridgelines, and it isn't MSRP or even invoice. They just won't sell at those prices without incentives (excepting for some new model year hype that dies off very quickly.)
If your dealer has rocketed the price up $2000 in a week's time, on a vehicle that is one week older (and one model year older than vehicles for the same price) I think you are right to be looking elsewhere.
Make sure you are not desperate. Honda isn't going anywhere and the Ridgeline isn't going anywhere, so there should be no urgency. $2000 should buy a lot of patience (e.g. if you need to haul some stuff in the next month, rent a truck.)
Good luck in getting a great deal!

Another dealer confirmed with me today...the $2,000 dealer incentive has been extended, but he didn't say how long it was extended for.

Just purchased my 06 RTS today and still got the 2k off plus. Total cost with options (Roof Rack, Front Brush Gruard, Trailer Pkg, Running Boards, Cargo tray - under rear seat) was $26,700. This included all dealer prep, destination, doc fees, ets. The only extra is tax and reg fees. With all the options I think it listed for around $32k.
Some dealers seem to have more 06's than others but they are moving them. Unless you are sure that there is a lot of stock in your area you should not wait too long as you will be stuck paying for an 07 which is virtually the same truck.
Yes, as time goes on the discount should get better but at these prices I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a better value.

I agree, it seems like they found a new price point that works got the Ridgeline and the current state of the economy. At $2000 below invoice it became a good value to me.
Welcome to the club!

The Pilot Incentive is indeed EXACTLY how it works and it is only for Pilots; The danger of these programs, is not all dealers will play, cause if they miss their bogey, it can mean a SERIOUS loss on the bottom line at the end of the month. Most dealers hate these prgrams. They would rather see a FIXED incentive, then one that is dependant on volume.
The Civic will not get incentives. There is WAY too much demand on the car. Now that I think of it, I really don't remember the last time I saw an incentive on a Civic. If there ever was one, it was very small, so don't waste time waiting for one to show up.
I would also not be surprised at all to see the 07 Ridges NOT get any incentives until next year. The incentives were placed on the 06's to GET THE TRUCKS ON THE ROAD. Now they are selling well, and the only reason the incentives got extended is probably because the 07's were here. With no major changes to the trucks, the only reason someone really has to go with the 06 would be for price, hence the extension of the incentive. So those waiting for the 07 to get one, you could be waiting a long time.
These are all just guesses based on experience, but thought you would be interested.

Help me out here...I get that the dealer gets a $2000 incentive. But where is he giving that up on the truck price to the buyer? - taking $2k off MSRP? -off Invoice? eg, I'm starting at base invoice + $550 dest fee, then asking to take off $2000. It's a struggle, and not many RTLs here in the NW. Arggh. Many thanks for more inuts on tactics. Jeez, this is slippery...

Dealer incentives basically lower our net cost by whatever the incentive is. So if it si $2000...then our "invoice" is $2000 less than what it used to be, thus enabling us to sell them for less money. SO if you were to buy the vehicle for $2000 below "invoice including destination", then the dealer would be making their "holdback" as a profit..which holdback is MSRP - Destination X 3%...so on a ridgeline, it will be right around $1000.00. Most Salesmanagers are not paid on holdback, so they do not like to go into it, because it takes money out of their paychecks because it lowers the net gross at the end of the month...and salespeople are really never paid on it at all except in very rare circumstances...tey are not even paid on incentives.
Real example...rightnow in CA, there is a $2500 incentive on MDX's. SO....a fully loaded, navigation and DVD MDX invoices for $40447.25-1326 holdback-2500 incentive.....my net cost without figuring in commisions/advertising/corporate packs is 36621.25. Whatever I sell it for over that is profit to the dealership without counting the extras.
Hope that helps.

Hey doc buford keep me posted on what pricing you are getting. I live down here in Olympia and work in Tacoma. So far I've been getting email quotes for $1000 more then Carsdirects pricing from the south sound dealerships. I have the the RTL Ridgeline on my short list of trucks. Shoot I wonder if we bought together if we could get a better deal?
Do you know of any local dealerships with a bunch of 2006's?

Thanks! That summary is very helpful. Several NW dealers are telling me they don't have many –if any- 2006 left; some are pushing me to “used” or to the new 07 RTX, no incentive. Several sales guys did’nt even call me back. One dealer with an RTL is barely budging on the incentive. I phoned some dealers in Phoenix for comparison, and they have 06 models, and much more willing to make a sale.

I've been seeing the same things Doc. Even at that, the used prices are higher then I've what I've been seeing vs new. The dealers seem insane. I'm very tempted just to order through www.carsdirect.com they've been quoting the lowest prices I've seen. I asked a low pressure guy down here in the Capital Automall if they would beat their prices. His reply was I bet we could. Hmmm...
Where are you at in the NW? I'm curious what ground you've covered.

I am picking up my Black 06 RTL with navi on Tuesday. I purchased it through the internet sales department at a dealer in Maryland. When I pick it up will be the first time I will see anybody face to face.
I am paying $31,000 "On the road" for fully loaded with extras. I got the $2000 dealer cash plus some of their holdback. I shopped this price all over the Mid-Atlantic and nobody could beat this deal. CANT WAIT!!!!
