My first (inadvertent) accessory...

I realize there are a lot of reasons to carry an ice chest in the live well, er, in-bed trunk on a Ridgeline, but the bikin', campin', hikin', fishin' & kayakin' forum seems to be as good a place as any to post this...

The day I picked up the new RL (last Monday), we concluded the paperwork shortly before lunch, so the dealer suggested that we go get a bite to eat while they prepped the truck. (Near as I can figure that means putting in the rubber floormats & filling the tank.) My wife wanted to go to a nearby butcher shop to pick up some meat for the freezer, since we were in town. I'm not arguing with the operative mission of obtaining some good steaks, so off we go. On the way, she suggested that I run into Wally World & get an ice chest to pack the meat for the drive back to the hinterlands. "Get a good one for the trunk of that truck," she said.

So I run into the store & see a display of 50-qt Igloo coolers that supposedly will keep ice 5 days in 90 degree temps. Here in hurricane country nobody really believes that, but nobody can have too many ice chests (or gas cans).

So here's what I grabbed. I didn't notice the embossed pattern for a couple of days, so this is just happenstance. But the pattern is that ole lagniappe working again. I guess I need to slap a ROC sticker on this, eh?

I suppose silver RL owners will regard this as a color-coordinated accessory.

Great, just great. Something else I can't live without. Does it come in Steel Blue? :D Nice find, djeaux.

Nice catch of the daydjeaux!
Now you'll need the in-trunk mat so it doesn't slide around.
That's how it works with these accessories;)
You gotta' think on your feet.

I have a nice piece of left over beige carpet in my shed. Just haven't gotten around to custom cutting it.

Along those lines, I had taken the bed mat out of my GMC stepside thinking I would cut it to fit the Ridge since it's exactly 4' across, but when I laid it in the bed to measure I found that uncut it extends perfectly from the tailgate all the way to the back of the cab. Just right for throwing it in when I'm hauling something! One less bit of work for me!

Lagniappe is one of my favorite words. For those that don't know what it means, look it up in a dictionary!

Thanks for pointing that out. It is a good word. It's another example of lagniappe on the ROC. Ya just never know how this place is going to help you in life. I'm always game to expand my vocabulary, that's one reason I subscribe to A Word A Day.
