Hey Gang.

I know that there have been countless discussions concerning various water leaks. A-pillar, C-pillar, Rear brake light, front floor, rear floor, etc. I have had my R/L for six weeks, and have driven at freeway speeds through rainstorms, as well as too many car washes to remember, both high pressure wash and washing by hand. No leaks so far. I have an April 2006 build date.

I was wondering what is the latest build date for anyone experiencing leaks. I found one post that was a December 2005 build. Nothing later than that. Has anyone with a January 2006 or later build date had any leaks? Many posters discuss their leaks but don't mention when it was built. I feal bad for those with leaks and hope that Honda has solved the problem. I eagerly anticipate your replies. Thanks very much. This is a fantastic site!!!

It looks like a lot of people are reading my post #1 but no one is responding. I'll take this as a good thing that nobody with a build date after December 2005 has had any water leak issues. Can I breathe a sigh of relief yet???

Hi, I had the same concern. I shopped for a week and visited numerous dealers to find the most recent build date. Finally I found a May 06 build run and bought it($27500 for a RTL s/r including destination). I have had it for only 10 days(1800 miles), but I have not experienced any water leaks (knock on wood). The only issue I have found is with the shift points for 1st and 2nd gear. When slowing to almost a stop, and trying to accelerate again, the tranny will shift down to 1st and back to 2nd. It appears as though the truck is hesitating but really it's shifting to 1st for no reason...... hope this helps.

Howdy - Would you share more information about how you got down to $27500 on your new RTL? Awesome price. I'm shopping now for a 2006 RTL s/r Silver near Seattle. But there are not many remaining here, and the dealer is stuck at $29000 flat. Assuming he has a $1000 holdback on the RTL, he would not go for my price of $27916; that's the $2000 incentive off the invoice of $29916. And he wants $300 for the wheel locks and door/mud guards. Argh. Thanks for your inputs!! -doc:confused:

I have a May 2006 build date and no leaks to date (Jul 10, 2006). I've had my Ridgeline since May 29th and washed it a couple of times and driven it several times in moderate to heavy rain. NO LEAKS.

I have a very early build. I took delivery of my truck in June of 2005. I had it's interior gutted in February '06 after only 2500 miles of neighborhood driving. The entire floor was soaked. The local dealership was very attentive and turned the car around in a couple days. It's now July and lo and behold, my Ridge has 5000 miles and more water and rust stains under the driver's side mat. The vehicle stinks (literally) and it's got to go back. I might see if the dealer will take it in trade for a Pilot. I was so excited to go out and get this truck after it's first car show appearance that I ignored the good sense of staying away from an early production run - after all, this was a "Honda". Boy, was I wrong. This is my sixth Honda and I would never have expected to sour on the brand but this is a real eye-opener.

Someone indicated they had a leak with a build date between Jan 06 & Feb 06 but didn't post any comments.

Well I can tell you that the water leakage problem continues into the 2007 models. I recently purchased my 2007 RL and 1200 km in I noticed water had accumulated on the driver's side. It could have been there longer but I never noticed it before. My truck went into the dealership yesterday (Wed. Nov. 1). I was told that they will probably need it till Mon of next week to locate and repair the leak as well as replacing the carpet and underlay. So I'm driving a loaner car till then.

As most of you know I have been here a while and I actually started reading this board back in March 05. My truck has NOT had any water leaks (built Jul05) and from what I can gather, most of the leakers were built before Sept 05. One of the theories that we had on the right A pillar leak was the robotic welder had problems determining the where the weld needed to be placed on the dark colored ridgelines. I have white and no leaks. Hope this helps.

My 2007 RTL is in the shop for the 2nd time with a water leak along the drivers side a pillar and firewall. The first time in they had to replace the insulation behind the dash and carpet and full floor insulation as it was full of mold. It took them 6 days. They used some type of polymer that hardens after in place and leak checked it afterwords - two weeks later after the truck sat in a couple of hard rains the driver side floor is wet again - and I am back to driving a KIA rental - the dealer has been great - it pisses me off that Honda has let this problem go on this long and the solution is to glue it together!

Picked up my 08 RTL in February. As of today there is 8,500 km's on it.It is drove mostly on the weekend. Anyway, after winter I noticed that the driver side carpet was soaking under the mat. I spent two weeks putting newspaper under the mat and leaving the doors open with the mats removed to dry it up as I thought it was from snow on our boots. Then summer rolls along and I notice dampness again, my husband assures me it is from the air conditioning. A friend mentioned this issue to us last weekend on Saturday. We had received a ton of rain the day before so I walked down my driveway, peeled up the mat and can't believe the puddle. So now I know it's the truck and not us. I called two different dealers and neither one of them had heard of a water leaking problem. The dealer that tried telling me the air cond. hoses could be plugged lost the work as I am finally also due for my very first oil change, it's at 20%. I think it's unlikely anything could be plugged yet as my mileage is so low. What really ticks me off is that every time it has rained or I've washed the truck it's gotten wetter. I'm bringing it in next week and I'm expecting them to tell us we are crazy. Actually my husband will be dealing with it, so they're not dealing with a woman. I'm also wondering what they'll plan on doing about the carpet that I think should be replaced.:(

Thanks so much for sending me the link to the thread Steveberger. It's kind of shocking that people have had leaks from so many different issues.Well I'm looking forward to getting it in next week and hoping the dealer I'm going to will be as good as the one that fixed your problem.
