Mysterious Windshield Crack

A week ago, a crack appeared in the passenger side of the windshield, starting at the very top. :( At the time we noticed the crack, it was about 5" long. We spotted the crack when the vehicle was sitting in the driveway, facing away from and some distance from the street. I had been driving the Ridgeline earlier in the day with a passenger who has a keen eye and definitely would not have missed seeing the crack or any debris hitting the windshield. The crack now is over a foot long. :( :( Has anyone had a similar experience?

I have heard of that being caused by heat, and that Warranty will often cover that.

Most likely a stress crack. Your dealer should replace it under warranty. I had a '94 Ranger that had a similar crack and Ford replaced it without question. It happened as I crossed an expansion joint on the Tennessee River Bridge on I-75 South of Knoxville. As I hit the expansion joint there was a loud report like a rifle shot. I pulled off the road after getting across the bridge thinking we had been shot. Then I noticed a crack about 18" long across the top of the windshield. Scared the hell out of me.
