Potential new owner needs price check!

So I'm looking at an 06 RT. In the Denver, CO area, the best price I've been able to get is 24,137 (doesn't include tax, but does include everything else). Is this reasonable? Good? Marginal? Any feedback on recent pricing or purchasing would be much appreciated.

If the $2k Honda to dealer rebate was still around you would be getting a great deal. I paid $21,600 on May31st but with the rebate. I would wait til next month and see if it comes back. Seems to me they need to move the 06's since the 07's are on the lot. Did you get any quotes on 07's?? I would look at the RTX also if going 07, get a lot more options for not a lot more money.

I picked up my steel blue RTS 3 weeks ago for 27000.00, the extras you get for the 3k will greatly increase the resale value. This is about 600.00 under invoice. You will love it!

$24,137 is not a great price right now, but it's not bad either.

A motivated dealer will sell an 06 RT for $23,487 right now without getting into the holdback money. Some have reported that they've been able to negotiate into the holdback money, but that's unusual (especially for Honda dealers).

Steve, not sure I follow the math here. If the dealer were getting a 2K additional rebate, wouldn't that make the deal worse?

I like the RTX as well, but the price jumps substantially on the 07s and I'm not sure I can justify the price increase for the gray allow wheels, tow package, and cosmetic grill change.

Just purchased my new 06 RT last week. They matched a quote that I had from another dealer of $21,400...they originally quoted $22,400. However, the quote didn't include dealer installed options (pinstriping, wheel locks, mud flaps) and destination. So about $22,500 with this all added in. Got out of the dealer at just over $24,000 with everything including taxes.

Thanks to all for the input. I ended up getting a red 2006 RTS. According to the sales manager, it was the last red 06 RTS in Colorado (not that that makes it true!). Anyway, I paid 25.7K before tax, which was the second best deal I was able to find (the lowest bidding dealer only had silver and wouldn't trade vehicles for a different color).

So now I've got this big red beast in my garage. I noticed a rattle in the dashboard on the drive home, so I guess I have my first service appointment forthcoming (*sigh*).

Anyway, I hope I enjoy the truck as much as most of the ROC members seem to!
