Has anyone heard of having an interval for performing the alignment on their RL (or any other vehicle)? Sitting at the dealer now for some warranty work (rear seats not staying latched) and the service advisor mentioned that I should be getting an alignment every 15k miles. I've never seen this in the manual or heard this recommendation before.

What do you think?

I think you should keep a close eye on tire wear, high speed vibration and any pull in the steering. If it steers strait, runs smooth, and the tires are wearing evenly, you don't need an alignment.

I'd say if your RL is not pulling to one side or the other or you do not have excessive tire wear that you shouldn't need a alignment. I could be wrong. Usually i only have a alignment done only when i get new tires or i notice there is a problem (excessive wear or pulling to one side or the other)

I wonder what other recommendations the advisor might make. 3,000 mile oil/filter changes? I'd test the person on other things and ask what the 15,000 mile recommendation is based on. I've come to the conclusion that my dealership's service personnel know less than I do about the Ridgeline and that their recommendations are based solely on the desire to transfer money from my bank account to theirs. They do not appear to give a crap about what's best for me or my truck. <shrug>

Ridged is right. I've asked 2 different service managers at the dealership and they've both given me different answers for various things. I'd read the forum for experiences from other owners and go off that before I go with what the dealer has to say. Either that or the manual. The RL's too new for the dealer to really know what the RL needs......

Definitly get your alignment done if your vehicle is pulling. However if you wait until you see excessive tire wear to have an alignment you are excessively wearing out your tires. I would consider having an alignnent done periodically to take of the castor and camber part and save those expensive tires.

I get my vehicles aligned every spring - after a winter of driving thru potholes, after they get most of them fixed and in time for summer/vacation driving.
