Thanks Pug 07-20-2006, 11:07 PM If you're looking for the type of bed rails that mount on the top sides of the bed, happy huntin', and good luck! Yer gonna need it. I've looked for rails specific to the Ridge for 5 months. Although I've had no luck finding any, there have been alot of so-called "universal fit" ones that I've decided against. I've also managed to rule-out many, many ways to custom-make my own. At times, I'd go off on tangents while searching. ... like adapting teak rails from boats... powder-coating shower rods... wrought iron railing... and my favorite bit of craziness encountered in one late-nite "search-a-thon" : triple-chrome-plated bar room foot rail with custom-made escutcheons. :p I know... not much help, am I? Just thought I'd pass along a bit of the frustration... and maybe prevent some in the process. ;) On a positive note, I remember someone, somewhere mentioning a set of rails they cut-to-fit. But there was a question regarding their strength of attachment. Hey. Don't shoot the messenger. Seriously though, I hope you have better luck, and maybe some manufacturer WILL come up with a solution. :) MegNAntsRidgeline 07-21-2006, 11:49 AM My personal opinion here but i think bed rails are hideous they make any truck look silly. ~Anthony captain morgan 07-21-2006, 12:15 PM I had considered some kinda rails for mine...I think they're okay if they're functional and not real honkers. I have a tonneau cover and can't get to the tie-offs in the trunk bed with that thing closed...I sometimes transport my kayaks on the roof-rack and have to run a line over the tg (now I can't open the tg) to tie them off.. I even considered some of those pop-up style cleats like they install on boats... Pug 07-21-2006, 05:34 PM Just thought I'd include a link here (http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6368) to a short thread (not much interest) with a "photochopped" pic of Paladin's RL with "chrome" tubular bed rails and Gwendolyn's description of her custom-made rails. No pic yet from Gwen, however. I may have err'd in stating there was a "question regarding their strength of attachment." She says they're very strong... used long enuff bolts to make'em that way. It seems bed rails are one of those "you either like'em or you don't" accessories. Not much middle ground on this one. Gary, good luck... with your bed rail search... and your team down the 'pike. ;) Go Stee's! :D 5S Dude 07-21-2006, 06:37 PM Does anyone knows where a person can get chrome bed rails for the Ridgeline? Thanks Hey there Brah! can you post a few photos of what you are thinking? Do they make these "bed rails" for other brands of trucks that we could retro-fit to our Ridgelines maybe? Ron | |
