I hate to dig, so I decided to use my tow strap to clear out some old, overgrown shrubs and trees in our frontyard. Go this this website to view the videos: http://users.adelphia.net/~scottg918514/ and click on the two links.

The first video (decapitation) is pretty funny, to strap was a little too high. The second one is the successful tear down of a 20+ ft. tall Leland Cyprus.

The RL did pretty good, but for this kind of pulling the front-wheel drive (unless all-wheel is needed) feature hurts the pulling performance. I put it in VTM-4 mode but that didn't seem to help and I don't like using on pavement.

BTW the "WOW" in the second video is my 3 year old son, he was impressed.

Cheers.:)

That was pretty cool. Good to see the ridgline flexing its muscles. I wonder if the ridge has enough power to have up rooted the tree instead of snapping it off? Thanks for the video.

I pulled two tall Leland Cyprus trees out. The first I cut down the tree first and used the RL to pull the stump. I took a bit of digging first to loosen up the stump, then the RL could pull it out. The second, taller cyrups is pulled down in the video, then we attacked the stump. Even w/ digging I couldn't get it out with the RL.

So I called up my neighbor w/ a Ford F-250 Diesel. His truck got out the stump, but it wasn't easy, several tries w/ a little more digging. This made me feel like the RL did a pretty damn good job if a F-250 Diesel struggled also.
