It's official. Saturday, August 26 was the winner. For details on the meet, check out this thread: http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=121741&postcount=1

If you know you're coming, let us know here. If your still up in the air about coming, also let us know. Try to be as accurate as you can about your intentions as others will want to know how big or small this meet will be. Also, it will be good to know who to expect so that we can wait for anybody who is running a little late before starting our Ridgeline Caravan to Mt Washington... :D

Hope to see a bunch of you there!!

I'll be there with wife and two small dogs. Looking forward to meeting you all.:D Maybe we can get ladyridge to make us a chrome decal highest mountain on the east coast. I not to fond of the big bumper sticker they give.

I will determine if I'm staying the night prior to the event.

Glad that you are coming. You know it's funny that you should mention a sticker. I was up in NH last weekend and I saw a Mini-Cooper with a sticker that said Mini's on top Mt. Washington 2005. I thought it was a great idea. Maybe if JC reads this post she would have an idea of a design. I'll see if she can make one up for us. See ya there.

Uhhh..... I've already been in contact with JC about something to commemorate the meet but it was supposed to be a surprise...
So something is sort of in the works.... ;)

Hey Carl, really glad your making the trip. Look forward to meeting you and your "family" :D

OK, so I goofed it is the first day of our vacation. It looks like I can probably still get up there but it will most likely be for the lunch meeting at Glen House. The big variable is going to be how quickly I can get us out of here in the morning (and beach and then N. Conway traffic). Still a few weeks to figure it out though.

I'm still in as long as their are a few showing up for the event.:) It would be nice to have a larger crowd convoy heading to the summit. Good way for the northern group to break in their 4 wheel drive prior to winter coming on the long and winding dirt and rock road. I at least want a picture of me drinking a beer on the tallest mountain on the east coast.:D

Maybe we ought to get honda to post this website on a piece of cardboard and put it with the owners manual or get dealerships to. Every new vehicle I have purchased the first thing I do when I get home is start reading the owners manual and all the other stuff in the glovebox.

Could increase membership in all threads.

And I agree that this would be a cool event if we get the numbers. I can start threads and keep bumping threads and put info and links in my signature but beyond that, it's up to the members to want to take a day and enjoy it with other ROC members...

Could increase membership in all threads.cI thought of this as well until I mentioned this site to my salesperson when I bumped into him the other day. This site is a fantastic resource for us as consumers but I'm not 100% sure that this is a good thing for the dealers. Threads concerning water leaks, wind noise, gas mileage, squeeky steering wheels, lack of off roading capabilities, body wrinkles, scratched beds and rubber seal around the back window are probably not topics readily offered in the sales process. Not saying any of these are even issues but...

Hang in, I'm sure we'll get a few more to join. The key is for those that say they'll come, actually commit so that those that are only coming should we have a decent turnout will have that incentive to be part of a fun day.

Let me also add that the first meet I tried to get going had only 3 off us show and to me it was well worth meeting those other 2 members. I know it was only an hour away for me and not the White Mountains but still well worth it. Of course 2 weeks later we had 10 show and those numbers are impressive to the passers-by...

So come on all... It'll be a fun day!!! Join us!!!

Checking in to see how many of you plan on spending the night up there. I will be bringing my two 8 lbs dogs and their carriers. I believe Birch plans on staying at the Ritz Carlton in the White Mountains at the North Conway Grand Hotel.

I'm fair game for camp site or any other place a group would want to stay.

Just wait until you meet my driver. The guy who drives me around in my Ridgeline... :p

North Conway Grand is not exactly a high end place. Decent rates. Problem looks to be that currently, they are only taking 2 night ressies...
As of right now, I'm not spending a night. But, I still may. There are plenty of accomodations in the area. Just depends on what your looking for and for how much...

Very sure... as a matter of fact, highly encouraged! So long as you don't show up dressed in Habs apparel... Then you and I would be spending all our time debating Canadiens-Bruins history... :p

Hey Justin, welcome to the ROC. Great to have ya. Especially with such great taste in color. You know Silver IS the best Ridgeline color. Of course you do...:D

Hope you can make it. The numbers are starting pick up. Jeesh, we may rival the Ridge Run if this keeps up.

Let me just add for those who are still on the fence about coming, I know it's a long drive for some but haven't most of us admitted publicly already that we love driving our Ridgelines? But at the same time, I want everyone safe so if the distance is too far to safely drive, it's totally understandable. It's why I didn't make it to the Ridge Run. On the other hand, I'm having visions of 10, 15, maybe 20 Ridgelines making the trip through the center of North Conway in the quiet, picturesque Mt Washington Valley. The sight of this convey making it's way up the side on Mt Washington and the lineup at the summit... ahhh this is going to be really cool for us Ridgeline junkies... I can't flipping wait!!!

Hey Carl, if you look at the first post in this thread, I'm trying to keep a running total of who's in. Right now it looks to be 8 but I suspect we'll reach 10 with some of the maybe's liking the turnout and commiting.

In May we pulled in 10 for the Budweiser Brewery meet... and I think this one will be an even better event. Beer is cool and all but with our trucks in the Mt Washington Valley, let alone the scene on the summit, I just hope I can take enough pictures. :D

I'm guessing that you'll be leaving from the Fall River area around 6:30? That put's you in my neck of the woods around 8:00 which is about what time I was planning on leaving so most likely we'll see everybody on the highway. We may have a 2 1/2 hour Ridgeline convoy... That has to be a record... :D

So Oz, I'm shooting for an 8am departure. With kids that departure can fluctuate by as much as 20 minutes but maybe we can work something out to meet up or at least watch for each other. HAHAHA 5 RLs on parade... Should be a fun sight.

Crystal Cascade: This is a spectacular, two-tiered waterfall with a dramatic, 60-foot wall of water, followed by a 20-foot plunge, ending with the river making a 90-degree turn.

Any thoughts on this season? I'm thinking it'll be just ok. The Pats always find ways when others can't. Not sure losing Adam is a big concern. Tedy being down is a bummer and Dieon being crazy is also a bit worriesome but looking forward to Seau and seeing what Bill has up his sleaves this season... :D

I am still strongly considering making the trip, possibly driving up Friday night and just stop somewhere and sleep in my truck. 5 hours is too long to drive back and forth in one day and the hotels are either full or booku expensive. So driving up Friday night and heading back after the meet may happen. Any idea on what the rough count is at this point.

Justin, Chuck, Dave:

I guess we now are on the first name basis. Just got off of the phone with OZ. From the conversation with OZ we will meet him and possibly Birch at the NH rest area off of I 93 between 7:30 -8:00 AM.

We now have a convoy going to the White Mountains. The three of us will hook up at exit 14, which is Rt. 1 past the I 95 and I 495 exit at 6:30 AM. The first person there can call the other two to let us know what the landmark is to meet at.

Any other participants that wants to join us in MA prior to meeting the other group at the NH rest area off of I 93 can call me on my cell 401-206-9425.

The fun thing with this event is, the colors participaing in the New England Event that has the most of the same color can claim their color as preference of choice and maybe silver might be 48 state wide, but the majority color for the New England event can be the New England color of choice. Come on Redrocks, we have a chance, could use one more for an insurance policy. Looking forward to Saturday. Just think of the photo op to post on this site.

We can still use a VT owner, a Canadian participant would make us international, and of course a NY and ME would put icing on the cake. :)

What were you guys taking as a route, when I have gone to this area in the past, I have always gone 95 to 16(Spaulding Tpke), and taken 16 north all the way up from there. Just wondering exactl where everyone will be meeting. Have never taken 93 for this trip.

I'm trying to think of a good pull off that's not to much effort....
I think there is a rest area in the Topsfield stretch of Rt95.... Let me try and confirm that... If I can get over there tonight, I'll grab the location and I'll post. Unless someone comes up with a better location before hand...

No worries Oz. I was kinda curious as to how you all were going cuz frankly, 95 to 16 is the quickest and easiest way... Thanks Jay for questioning authority... hehe

Call me tonight 401-206-9426. There are many ways to get there, some cheaper than others. There is the shortest, fastest, cheapest, and scenic. Let me know where and when. At least 3 of us will be leaving MA together to hook up on the convoy. Never know, could have some suprise participants.

Old Army term "road guards post". Who's vehicle will stop traffic at intersections so we can all cross together. Odd color out. Really looking forward to this. Think of the photo ops.

I can’t believe I did that. Yes thanks to Jay. I looked up and found a good spot. It’s the Seabrook rest area and welcome center. It’s located on 95 northbound in Seabrook New Hampshire. Would this be ok for everyone? It’s impossible to miss it. am so sorry guys and gals. I travel this route so often that it is automatic for me. What can I say I had a loss/brain fart.

Gotta give either one of you the honors of starting the new Thread for the event tomorrow so we can start by adding pictures.

Rest a sure we will have pictures of interest that the main event did not have.

I have my sponge maker ready for all the glass on my Ridgeline SUV, HA HA.

For those that are ruffing it, might want to bring tooth brush, sweat pants and shirt or jacket, ice chest of your beverage of choice, chairs to sit in to shoot the bull. Also if you decide to sleep in your truck a blanket. It could get cold.

A few years back, my wife and I took a ride up, didn't bring anything with us and decided to spend the night. Needless to say with all the outlet store, we purchased new clothes, found a good hotel to sleep in, and had a great dinner.

See ya in the morning.

Quick funny story about being an obsesive ROCer...

I work on the 8th floor of a 10 story building. We have limited parking under the building but I don't have a spot so when someone who does have a spot goes on vacation, I usually borrow their spot... Makes it easier to come and go from the office.

Well, at 8:30 this morning, the building evactuation alarms sounded and my boss started running around telling us to grab our stuff and leave because in situations before, employees have not been allowed back in the building for as many as 4 days, (due to a water break and flood a few years back). So I grab my belongings and make my way down the stairs to the street and as I'm watching the Fire Department rush into the building, the thought hits me that my TRUCK IS IN THAT BUILDING!!!! I have a meet tomorrow! I need my truck!!! How can I get in to SAVE MY TRUCK!!!

The New England Meet 2006 meet was fantastic. One thing I learned from the event. You can be shy, reserved, or very outgoing. Being around a group of people you really know nothing about, having the same thing in common, their Ridgeline makes you feel part of their family.

After reading their threads posted and meeting them in person is great. It’s one big happy family that makes a stranger feel welcome. A big thanks to Brich and OZ, great event. I believe the official ROC count was 12.

I look forward to more events in the future. Made of a lot of new friends. The camaraderie was great. If any of you get the opportunity to participate in a local ROC event, don’t think about it do it, and you will even enjoy this site a lot more.

Attached are some pictures. Saw a lot of nice cameras and I am sure this site will be flooded with pictures.:D

Last batch. Thanks to Ladyridge and Brich the window decal is great. This was a climb to the clouds.

Cost to participate in a ROC event:

2 tanks of Gas 460 miles -----$100.00
Snacks and beverage of choice -----$20.00
Lunch ---- $18.00 (Ladyridge had a special message for the group with a poster waiting for us)
Mt. Washington Entrance fee -----$27.00
Dinner for two with new friends on the way home -----$25.00
The actual event, new friends, and new decal " P R I C E L E S S"

I feel I have a limited edition and it is priceless. No pictures yet, but will rest assure someone will post it. Between Brich and Oz, I believe Brich had his on first prior to the event, and Oz was the first to put his on at the rally.

Mount Washington, New Hampshire
6,288 feet
Coos County, northern New Hampshire 65 miles west of Atlantic Coastline, 25 miles south of Berlin
Latitude 44 degrees 16 Minutes North, Longitude 71 degree, 18 Minutes West
Mount Washington is the premiere peak of the East (although not the tallest). Towering more than 2,000 feet above timberline -- a huge distance in the East, it continues to lay to claim to having the world's worst weather -- winds recorded at 231 miles per hour. That wasn't just a quirk. The weather is almost always awful. If it's not incredibly windy, then the mountain is fog bound -- or worse. Briefly, in December 1997 it was reported Guam took the title with 236 mph winds but their measuring equipment proved faulty so Mt. Washington maintains the title.
The weather is very deceptive to the uninitiated. The summit is less than a half hour drive from May to October. However, hikers all too often mistake this easy access and the seemingly nice weather at the base with what they will discover above timberline. Consequently, the mountain has one of the highest casualty rates of any in the world. The trail up is marked by memorials to those who have fallen and a much too rapidly growing list of casualties is kept at the summit.

If you brave the hike, the summit may be a bit a culture shock with its vending machines, in season concession stand and museum (a staff stays at the summit year round maintaining the weather station and the towers).

All along I knew I was missing out on a wonderful day, meeting new friends and being somewhere I've never been. What an adventure! I'm happy you all had a great time.

Mount Washington (formerly Agiocochook), at 6,288 ft. (1916.6 m), is the highest peak in the American Northeast (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeastern_United_States). It is famous for its dangerously erratic weather, holding the record for the highest wind gust directly measured at the Earth's surface, at 231 mph (372 km/h) on the afternoon of April 12 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_12), 1934 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1934).

All right, is the highest peak in the Northeast. So what is the tallest mountain on the east coast?

Pizza man: You were missed. As we were eating lunch, believe it or not I was talking with Justin and lookin at the frozen pizza that was selling for $2.25 a slice. You would put this pizza to shame, needless to say we would get two large slices of your homemade pizza. A bunch of us would love to sample your meatball, pizza, and whatever else you sell. Maybe be have a ridgemeet in PA and if you have a restaurant we have you cater the event and charge each participant by the head. At the restaurant we ate ate I figue the average cost per person for lunch was about $9:00.

CW, your flattery is undeserved, I'm just a guy that cooks as a hobby. I'm not a restaurant owner and I never even stayed at a Holiday Inn Express! :D I'm an admirer of the art of cooking and do my best to learn it. The Pa meet sounds great and I could even arrange a great dinner at my favorite local restaurant. I know the owner very well and we could put together a great "family style" dinner. But, that's a topic for a different thread.

THANK YOU to all who had a part in putting the meet together!!! I had a GREAT time meeting with fellow ROC'ers. My family also had a great time going also. It was nice to meet everyone and a BIG THANK YOU to LadyRidge for her crafty work!

Hey Brich... I actually did make it up with all of the 'extra' weight I had in the cab! The extra weight didn't even over heat the brakes on the way down either (let me father drive on the way down, he loves to go to Mt Washington!). We all had a nice time, we even took the tour behind the scenes and into the observation tower. We were the last RL to leave the Mountain.

Thanks again! :D

P.S. If anyone wants a higher res image of any of the photos I uploaded from the meet, please PM me and I will email it over to you!:)

Almost forgot... I had to share the best comment I heard on the way up...

As I was passing an F series truck that was on his way down, the driver sticks his head out the window and asks...'There a good sale on the Honda?'

Nope... We just love em'! :D

Terrific pics! I especially love the distant shot with the RL's overlooking the drop off! I hope everyone had a great time. Makes me want to be at another meet!:p
