Meet & Greets down South????

So how many of you SoCal ROC-heads are up for an impromptu Barb-Bo-Que somewhere in San Diego before the Santa Cruz event planned for the end of September?

kewl deal, plan it and they will come :p , I'm in, where do you plan on having it, maybe near the water to beat this heat that the world is having. Let me know the date.

I'm good to go if there isn't a Dodger game going on. :)

Hi SoCal ROC'ers-

It's been a busy month for us at work...we haven't had a chance to get online to chat lately. Just wondering when everyone wants to come down to San Diego----> on a Saturday or Sunday?

Just thinking out loud...what if we try something different this time. Eveyone brings their favorite beverage and kick in $10.00 (depending on how many show up) per person towards the purchase of food and I'll get the stuff. That way you don't have to haul a bunch of stuff down here.

I was thinking we can do the asada's (polo, carne), carnitas, burgers and all of the fixings (tortillas, sour cream, guac, salsa, lettuce, tomato etc...), cookies, pie, assorted junk food or ???? (insert suggestions here) :confused:

Also, where do you want to go? The beach or a park??? Right now Mission Bay is closed (due to a raw sewage leak - YUCK :eek: )...it should be okay in a few days (fingers crossed). The park (Balboa) is nice...but it's just trees and grass. Not much to do.

Since there are only a couple of people in San Diego I see online (Bonerep & Hawaiiridgeline)...I may need some help from some of you to secure parking etc...

Let me know your thoughts and suggestions.

Yeah buddy!!!! We are both off both Sunday's! Cindy has Saturday & Sunday off on the 20th so we can spend the weekend down there where it's hopefully a little cooler........

Saturday sounds good...somewhere near the water is also good, it will keep everyone cool and more stuff to do...since some people has some toys they can also use in the water if they want to bring it with them and some can fish too. There's lots of areas in San Diego, since i'm not a local, only the area that i've been to, like Cardiff area or south of Cardiff is also a good area. there's also oceanside beach area...

That sounds good daryl, so don't have to worry what food to bring and forgot to bring.

My suggestion for locations:
Fiesta Island or Mission Bay park? That's a good place to have a large meet and greet, there's also smaller parks like Tide Land park? The small problem with these parks or anywhere is a bit of traffic.

There's also in North County San Diego that we all won't have a problem with parking is Cardiff State Beach on South Coast highway 101. There's plenty of parking and its near the water or Ocean
