jaiden 07-27-2006, 11:14 AM :( :(
I though I would start a support group thread for all of us that are unable to make it to the bash. As I work today, I daydream of being with my Ridgeline brethren. Having experienced a small scale meet in ROC at the Rock, my heart and soul long to be free with you all in Marysville and surrounds.
Unfortunately, a prior engagement takes me out of town through the weekend. Yes, out of town. I work in Marysville (at Honda no less) and live in Dublin, yet I'm still going to miss the party! Unbelievable!!
Normally nothing would keep me away. No weather. No distance. Hopefully the 2nd Annual Ridge Run will see my presence. Until then, I'll hug my Ridgeline, cry a few tears, and think of being with you all.
:( :(
(I will be watching for pictures and stories though.)
I'll join you in the club! :(
5S Dude 07-27-2006, 12:22 PM I gotta say jaiden, We're right there beside you! Maybe next years RidgeRun can come a little further west as well......

As I wipe my tears away, I notice you have a Cannondale - is that a SuperV700 I see on top the RL ??
NICE - I have a SV700 too.
I'm in Chicago and would love to go too, but can't. Next year I hope!
UglyTruckling 07-27-2006, 04:03 PM I'd like to join the group, too. I definitely feel left out. :(
ridgeln 07-27-2006, 04:30 PM Jaiden -
good to know it wasn't me that drove you away! We'll miss you, buddy. I'll make sure to take lots of pics (looks like we may be dodging rain drops this weekend :( ).
Just had CUinaRidge and his lovely wife and new puppy over - the fun has started!

Hey Brah! we're all expectin photos to start pouring in any second now.................
BannedUser 07-27-2006, 08:15 PM Jaiden, I was worried it was me who was keeping you away. :(
Don't forget our ( yours and mine ) mini meet at NOPI and the one you, Ridgeln and I had in Columbus for lunch in addition to ROC at the ROCK. You've been to 3 with me so you are forgiven. :D
We'll be thinking about you and all the rest of our dear ROC family.
( Say hi to Misty for me )
I leave at 10am for Ridge Run.
:p
Kellcut 07-27-2006, 08:15 PM I'm in the group.
hope that all there have a GREAT time, but we do need pics!
jaiden 07-27-2006, 08:26 PM I feel so loved..:D
No one's kept me away besides myself. But you've all been in my thoughts! Does that count!
Looking forward to the pictures so that we can enjoy a virtual meet.

Frank, do post photos. I hope you took some of the puppy. I asked Carl, but he's not digital yet and I can't wait to see the new baby.
I would be pining away as badly as I did when Tony, Dan and the bunch had that first SoCal meet if it weren't for the meet we've got scheduled on Sat. Getting ready for that is keeping me busy and anxious. After I see all the locals here, I'll be ready to feel bad about missing the mega party y'all are going to be having for days and days.
Don't wear yourselves out. Never mind. Go for it. And tell all of us all about it.
There in spirit. . .
jaiden, this support thread is an excellent idea.
ridgeln 07-27-2006, 08:43 PM You'd think someone with my background and digital photo capabilities would have had his camera RIGHT THERE and READY to go - but - I didn't. :(
I was too busy cleaning the barn for the Bar-B-Que (Carl can attest to how clean it is now) and building RidgeRat #2's Tree House (darn rain got in the way - would have had it done!). Oh well - I don't think you'll cry as many tears as RidgeRat #1 did when his hopes were raised then dashed when he A) Heard about the puppy and B) when he found out the puppy had left.
What a crummy Dad I am for NOT having the camera ready to get pics of the puppy!
I will have it ready to roll tomorrow - it'll be interesting as RR#2 will have the camera in hand as we roll down the road.
Time to sleep - just finished the directions and maps for the Poker Run!

Truckin' 07-27-2006, 08:55 PM I'm surprised Mr. Photog was without his equipment. I'll forgive you as I know you've had your hands full with your generous hosting of the BBQ at your place. Just put it on the list of things to shoot when your get a chance.
Eaglesno1 07-27-2006, 09:39 PM I'm with you, wish I could go too:(
RIDGID 07-28-2006, 07:08 AM My heart is breaking.Being retired you know I must work and I sell hats and shirts etc. at fairs and festivals.Well I decided not to come to the ROC meet and I was rewarded yesterday with a whole $28 dollars in sales a dead battery in the Ridge, and 38 2 minute rain showers.
I think that is a wonderful trade off don't you?
Have fun and there is always next yr.
boohooo boohooohoo
Rick Walker 07-28-2006, 07:30 AM Wish I were there!
I have a "family reunion" this weekend. You know, those things where you get together to be reminded that you can't pick your family. You know, where you spend time with people that you probably wouldn't if you had the choice. And it's a three day affair!!!
I'm not as bitter as I sound, but I am in a bit of a mood to have to miss the ROC meet.

Terry..there is nothing that says you can't come anyway. It's open to the public as TMac has stated. Maybe they will let you pay for ther BBQ at the gate. :D I was told by a good source there is plenty of food. And if not, you can have half of mine.
So get your retired toosh down off the Lake and meet us at Ridgeline Court for fun and friends you won't soon forget.
Poker Run is at 2PM today.
:D
We should all meet in the chat room, cry together over a beer, and give each other moral support.
It can be a virtual RL mini-meet!

Is that real beer.... or virtual beer?
Truckin' 07-28-2006, 08:25 AM The choice is yours. . .
Eaglesno1 07-28-2006, 10:00 AM I hope it's not virtual beer, I got soo drunk off that once, I was sick for days:D
Well, if you're drinking that watery stuff they call beer in the US, I supposed it'd be virtual. Up here in Canada, it's real beer! :D ;) :p
meanmachine19 07-29-2006, 08:52 AM Add me to the list of 'wishing I was there' syndrome.
I hope a location for next year's meet is announced early enough before I make any other vacation plans! I just had my vacation in June so to go would not have been feasible. Not to mention it's a little far for me! (not that I wouldn't go with enough time to plan  )
Hope everyone has as much time there as we will enjoying the pics and stories that roll in!
Webwader 07-29-2006, 09:25 AM Where's the live webcam shots of all this fun? :D
We may not be attendees but we are there in spirit.
Truckin' 07-29-2006, 07:43 PM We just got back from our small but scenic and delightful meet here in Utah. That's kept the self pity from sinking in for the National. Of course I would have loved to be there to meet folks, but I met some today and that will suffice. I'm really glad by accident we targeted the same weekend.
djdj, Doug, beat me to the punch and posted a few photos here:
http://www.thebaseonline.com/rocmeet/
Thanks Doug.
ridgeln 07-29-2006, 07:53 PM Hi Truckin' - glad your meet went well.
At last count, we had 20 trucks together at once. Did I mention that included GARY FLINT? Yes, I made his name because his Ridgeline is Red (ok, so the Red's have one-up on all the rest of us).
The best part? Watching all the attendees getting their Owners Manual SIGNED by Gary! I'll post a re-hash of the weekend tomorrow evening. My family has been invited to Mid-Ohio to the vintage motorcycle races tomorrow.
