Acura's first compact SUV, the RDX, will feature the company's first ever turbocharged engine, a new 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder with i-VTEC, making an impressive 240 hp and 260 pound-feet of torque. It goes on sale in late summer 2006.

Wow, 240 HP out of the 4-cyl:)

Sounds awesome! That's a lot of power out of a 4 banger.

They were already getting 200 HP out of the TSX 4 cyl. Guess the turbo cranks it up another 40 HP. I have only driven one turbo, a new RX-7 the dealer gave me for a loaner. Awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!

With some cams along with breathing mods, the RSX Type S can make 300 WHP easy with .4 liter less displacement. hehe. First turbo'ed honda in the states looks exciting, but not the first turbo honda they have ever made.

The first gen s2k's where 240hp NA out of a 2.0L 4cyl so its not that impressive, but it looks like they are using the turbo to jack up the tq.

My local dealership is getting their first shipment in Wednesday and the wife and I are set to test drive one Thursday. Still can't decide between a new TL or the RDX for her 2003 TL Type-S replacement.
One of the concerns we have is vehicle theft on the RDX. That engine is going to be in huge demand with all the Honda/Acura tuners. I just read that 6 out of 10 most stolen vehicles were Acura Integras and RSX's because of their engines.
Anyways, should be fun Thursday. I love watching a salesperson's face when I get behind the wheel and say "I'm a good driver" in my best Dustin Hoffman (Rainman) impersonation.

The 4 bangers have really improved since my first one ('81 Accord). The rule in '81 was when you saw a mountain on the horizon, better start downshifting. In todays 4 cyls, just leave it in 5th and go.

Just looked at Acura's web site. RDX requires premium fuel, mileage is 19/23, and the MSRP is 32K/36K depending on trim level.:(

Premium fuel is one of the biggest problems I have with Nissan. I love their vehicle design, but don't want something I have to use premium in.
