rtpjunior 05-03-2005, 07:07 PM Someone a few weeks back mentioned a company that was close to production on a roll-up tonneau for the RL. I checked their site, they list it as available after 5/31, and list it for $800. Good video there as well on the install. Check it :

Weather-proof?
Weather-resistant?
Quality?Strength?
Ease of Installation?
Ease of removal?
etc. etc.

Please post your experience and some pictures of the process when you get it. It looks like a nice product. I am curious as to how they will modify the system for the Ridgeline. Did you ask if they will have a lock that fastens to the tailgate?
delphi7x10 05-05-2005, 12:39 AM Bliss,
You are right it does look sharp, I can't wait to see the instructions for the RL though, my guess is it will be somewhat harder than most. I see in the Tacoma, they use the bed rails, but these are not even standatrd in the RL, so my guess is you will need to remove the bedliners as you do for Hondas install.
As to a lock, they mention on one of the pages, to use a 3rd party tailgate lock, from your local parts store, so I not sure haow easy that will be to find.
I am mosty interested to see how they move water out, and also how much gets into the bed. They say they would not leave important paper documents in there, well that about the same as mine, the honda cover, anything else I would leave.

amazonEX-L 05-05-2005, 09:10 AM Has anyone had any experience with the 'rollbak' tonneau cover on a previous vehicle? Like the idea of one for the ridgeline but would like to know just how good they are on trucks currently using them.
utvnut 05-05-2005, 09:17 AM I really look forward to seeing one on a Ridgeline before I decide. I want to be able to still use the whole bed and fully open the trunk.
Ridge Runner 05-05-2005, 02:19 PM I too want to get a TONNEAU cover. the RollBak Tonneau cover, will be available after May 31st. Sale price is $798.00 plus $59.00 Shipping in the US
Total would be $857.00. My concern is finding someone to install it, as I don't want to screw up anything. I understand it is not waterproof, but, there are two drain tubes at the front of the bed that let any water drain out to the ground. It is 100% Powder Coated Aluminum in satin black, with a 400+ lb weight capacity. Shipping point is Conroe, TX. If anyone else plans to purchase this, I would sure like to hear how you like it.
I merged these 2 threads to cut down on redundancy. They both deal with the same subject, the Rollbak tonneau cover, and people's impressions of it both on other trucks and on the Ridgeline.
Ultra-HOG 05-05-2005, 03:46 PM There may be more than one to choose from. I just spoke with the kind folks at Rolltopcover (http://www.rolltopcover.com) and they have a prototype that they are working on right now. They expect to have a model available near the end of this month (May 05). After looking at the RollBak web site and the Rolltopcover site, at this point I like the Rolltopcover better. The engineer that I spoke with said that they are working on a mounting system with custom brackets that will use existing bolt holes. I discussed the narrow amount of clearance between the bed walls and the in-bed trunk cover that the side rails will need to mount to. I hope that they can come up with a method of mounting the rails so that the trunk lid can be raised normally. If the rails restrict raising of the trunk lid, I will have to wait for something else. I suggest that the RollBak product will have the same clearance issues. They said that they will be posting pictures on their site as soon as it is available. They also expect to have locks available for the tailgate but they will take a little longer. I know that I saw an electric lock for tailgates. When I find it again I will post the information about it as well.
boxsky 05-06-2005, 09:35 PM My question is with either aftermarket or OEM what is the height from the bed to bottom of the cover. This will dictate if I can get one or not. Anything under 30 inches will be difficult.

Good luck finding a cover 30" over the bed...the sides are only 19" over the bed, at the tailgate.
