Oregon's not THAT far from Santa Cruz, CA...

You know, you Oregonian ROCers ought to consider coming down to the Santa Cruz ROC meet on the weekend of September 30. It's what, a 10 hour drive from Portland? Piece of cake! Just get on I-5, set the cruise control, and fly down!

In 1978 when I was 18 and just graduated High School, I took the summer off before college to go to Denver to see my big brother. I did the 1300 mile trip in 24 hours, in my 1977 Gremlin:eek: with my 12 year old brother in tow. We loaded up on MCyD's burger and sodas, stopped for gas/potty twice and went West.
I'll never forget the feeling of seeing the Mountains for the first time growing over the horizon. :cool: Ended up staying for 2 years. I sure miss it. :(

I'm still working on the 'Mrs.' for this....12 hour drive and I really, really want to go. Still waiting on my work schedule status, which is changing in September. Then I'll have a better picture and see just how much overtime I need to work before then :rolleyes:

Come on Kev, you have to grovel a bit! ;) And I want to appologize if anyone outside of Cali thought they were not invited! I think by now those on the ROC that know of me, know they are always invited to our meets! Even those unregistered ROC members with Ridgelines are welcome! :o
