I had the truck in for its first oil change and figured I would have them do the steering wheel fix while I was there.

I was told 3 - 4 hours, so I waited. After 3.5 hours I'm told they don't have the part? I called, made an appointment, told them what I wanted done - told oil change 1/2 hour. SO WHY WAIT 3 HOURS TO TELL ME NO PART.

Wanted to put me in a rental - actually tried to force it, but I hate the civic to death and had already lost 1/2 a day so no, not traveling back whenever they fix the truck.

Made an appointment today because the part came in. Asked how long. I was told 1.5 - 2 hours max. I got to the dealer, confirmed time-frame.

waited 1.5 hours for the tech to tell me that he can't get the truck fixed today and can he give me a rental....

I replied, NO. What about I don't want a rental didn't you understand from my Thursday appt.

So, I'm trying to stay cool and not get upset because I have completely blown two days needlessly at the dealer - this is my 10th trip to the dealer and have had the same kinds of problems with warranty fixes - so annoyed.

I tell him, well I'm off on Friday, so lets make it Friday and get it over with. He replies, oh Fridays not good for me - I'm not working.... I told him I won't have a job much longer if Honda keeps screwing up my service appointments so either its Friday or they can send back the reel and forget about the warranty fix because I will dump the truck because I"m tired of living at the dealer.

What would you guys do, complain to management.....

When I make an appointment and wait I expect them to be on the ball and make sure the part is in. Even in the event of a mistake, that they tell me before 3.5 hours because they are assuming they can push me off in a free rental.

The second time this week is totally unacceptable because I asked 3 times and was assured I would be in and out in 1.5 hours - not to wait 1.5 hours to see if they could get me in.

I think a customer complaint is in order.

 Sounds like time to find a new dealer for your warranty work!

Don't get me going on this dealership issue. Seems most all service dept.'s think nothing of having you come back 3,4,5 times to get things done correctly(like you don't have anything better to do,right?)
Complaining to the management does nothing (been there, done that).
What I would do and I have, is accept their loaner, drive it like you stole it, and get the work done once and for all.

Step 1 - submit formal complaint to dealership general manager
Step 2 - cc same complaint to America Honda
Step 3 - find a different dealership and have your warranty work performed there.
Step 4 - Never buy another vehicle from original dealer
Step 5 - If any of your family/friends are thinking of buying from them, let them know of your sub-par service experiences.
Step 6 - Try to let it go and move on.

id be angry too if I wasted that kind of time with no resolution, Find a new dealer if there is one in the area.

I had the steering wheel fix done a few months ago, I live 45 mins from the dealer.. I took the rental the offered @ hondas expense, they gave me a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder, I figured put the miles on the rental.

I'm so glad I don't have the problems that others have with there dealer;) My service people call me by name when I walk in and bend over backword to help me:cool: The only thing I can complain about is the free wash they give after service it leaves alot to be desired:rolleyes:

It has to be the lack of experienced technicians at the dealer you are taking your truck at.
There is no way the steering fix will take that long.
I took my truck to the dealer to have an oil change and they fixed the steering wheel at the same time.
Time to find another dealer..:)
