Basickoncepts

There has been a lot of bashing about basickoncepts. I purchased a number of products from Brian, and yes I had to wait for them to be delivered and even pay in advance.
I ordered the bed cover in April based on the favorable reviews in the owners club. A short time later I ordered the tailgate lock and gasket set. Than I decided that the console light and aux. socket looked like a good idea (since I do not have anbient lighting). When I called Brian he said that he would add the light to the same order and give me a discount. When these products arrived I found the to be of excellent quality and easy to install.
Now the big item. The bed cover. Yes it took 4 and 1/2 months to be delivered. A long time, exasperating!! First I was told it would take one month, then by the end of June, that came and went. Next it was in two weeks than by next week.Low and behold I got an e-mail with a DHL tracking number. My cover arrived the folowing Monday.
Was it worth the wait, you bet it was. The cover is great, it looks wonderful. Brian makes an exceptional product. I had faith in humanity and Brian and it was not misplaced.
I know many of you said, pay a man months in advance for a product that you do not have, are you crazy, maybe so. But he was starting out and needed money to buy the material. I had faith and it paid off.Kudos to you Brian and I hope that you can stay in business.
To all you doubting Thomas's, I held in and it paid off.

Schoenig, you are not the only ROC member I've heard mention this. The are two other BK Tonneau cover owners who've stated their satisfaction with their covers to me, but, in their words, wish to stay above the "fray".

It seems positive threads concerning Brian and Basickoncepts have a way of stirring things up and bringing back up the negative. Not that the detractors don't have just cause, I feel they do.

I do appreciate hearing from the satisfied customers and hope that others do as well. An aftermarket supplier of quality products will always be welcomed. I also hope that your experience signifies things are coming around for Brian and he overcoming his delivery problems.

It's always interesting seeing a thread with the title "Basickoncepts". You know there will be some heated discussions. As one can see from the prior posts...things have not changed. BTW...I went to Brian's site recently and many items are no longer available. I think all he has now is the tailgate lock. Hmmmm?

Many of you complain about the excessive number of negative statements concerning BasicKoncepts but the simple truth is that we conducted business with what we thought was a legitimate company (small company, but one nonetheless) and ended up with (thus far) nothing.

I commended Brian on his communication but that gives little comfort when I still haven't received the bed cover I purchased back in March. I recently asked for a final delivery date, didn't receive one and then requested a refund of my money. Brian's reply was the he had filed for chapter 11 protection and all he could do was fill the order and he would get back to me. He also blamed this website for forcing him to do this but I see no correlation at all. BasicKoncepts received the money before the product was delivered, there should not be an issue.

I do not intend to wait for my cover and I am not a creditor of BasicKoncepts. I am a person who's money was stolen. I question the legitimacy of those who post positive comments about Brian's products. I think that they may be fake. I am looking at whether or not a criminal investigation can be can be opened to determine if fraud has been committed (some places call it theft by deception, other places by different names).

I will not sit idly by and be robbed. I will apply as much pressure as I can .

I continue to watch this website with baited breath to see if the slighted have received their products from Brian.

To all interested in a cover for your truck....DO NOT CONSIDER BASIC CONCEPTS!!!!

I have very deep concerns of the product itself. I order my cover 11-05. Waited till spring of 06 to arrive. In five months the cover was defective. I know your saying I abused it.

Well these items are purely bad construction....warped under board, board not screwed to anything, all screws are rusting, and all four pins have rusted in the opened position.

If you want a quality product, you need to pay good prices. Beware of cheap make overs. I was promised repairs. Waited the day for pick up and no pick up was to be there. Requested my money back and haven't heard anything back. HUMMM, CAN YOU SPELL LAWSUIT AND ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE CHARGES!!!!

Do not wait or pay in advance. NOT HAPPY IN NEW YORK!!!!
