Bought a 2007 Ridgeline on Saturday which I won't see until mid-September :p . I'm pricing out accessories now and I'm hoping some of the current owners in Ontario may have some suggestions as to other after market places to get this stuff.

The items I've priced so far are as follows:

Honda.ca Price / Local Dealer Price

Mud Flaps Rear ---84.68 / 56.00
Bug Deflector -----269.00 / 221.00
Full Nose Mask --- 230.77 / 202.00
Hard Tonneau Cover- 2,062.54 / Same- installed
Body Side Mouldings --- / ----
Bed Mat/Protector ---- / -----

Anyone been shopping?? :o

Jack, check out www.collegehillshonda.com Unfortunately, our site advertisers (H&A Handa) do not ship to Canada. College Hills Honda does and their prices are very reasonable as well given the fact that the exchange is very low right now.

Hey Jack T
where did you buy?? At London Honda or Westgate??

Hi !

Bought from London Honda. Actually went into WestGate first and the new Sales lady was very attentive, but when I told her I was shopping for a good price and wondered what they could offer, she told me she had to ask her Sales Manager. She came back with this strange look and stated her Sales Manager was refusing to give me a price, he suggested I shop around and then go back to see them after. Kind of a strange response when your in the business of selling cars ! So I went over to London Honda and took a test drive, and by 5 p.m. walked out with my copy of the sales agreement:D . Really tempted to go back to WestGate to let them know they lost the sale because of his reply, but I figured it was probably a waste of time.:o

Jack.......Pleeeez go back to the dealership!

In fact, drive right up in front as close as possible to the "sales pit" where they (salespeople) can see you pull up and walk into the manager's office with a statement like, "Your salesperson told me to come and see you after shopping around....Oh!...you mean I was only to get a price and NOT buy the truck!"......

Negotiating to buy a new car has to be the worse part of dealing with these "stealers".

Yeah

That might be good for a chuckle:D

We'll see when my truck gets delivered.

I had some minor issues upon the delivery of my 2007 Steel Blue, so to ease my pain :( I talked the dealership into selling me Mud Flaps and a Bug Deflector at a better price.:)

I got the $56.00 mud flaps for $43.00

The $221.00 Bug Deflector was purchased for $176.00 today.:D

So don't accept the Parts Departments pricing. They also threw in the first Oil change since I had to go back to get some body marks buffed out.

$850.00 seems very high for the hitch and wiring. There is a hitch kit that has the hitch, wiring, brackets, all the fuses and relays, tongue and tongue lock
and is much cheaper than buying it seperatly although I don't know the what the retailprice is. My wife is the F&I manager and accountant at the dealership so I get the parts at cost.

I've bought 3 vehicles from Ottawa Honda and sent at least 5 others in who bought vehicles from them. When I made the deal on my Ridgeline (the last 2007 they had) I told him I wanted mud flaps, trailer hitch and wiring package and black step bars thrown in, about $1700 retail. He didn't bat an eyelash....done.

On top of that he gave me 0.9 % financing for 60 months. Sometimes it pays to have a good relationship with your dealer.

I know this is an older thread... but just so you know- Jason Burtman from Burtman Industries DOES ship to Canada. Although they are after market parts (meaning not genuine Honda) he has some great quality stuff! I bought a set of Westin step bars and a bug defector from him. Saved a bundle o'cash and he provides excellent service! I highly recommend this vendor! :) :)

Burtman Industries (http://www.burtmanindustries.com/index.php)

I've asked him to maybe help me get some authentic Honda accessories now as well... will keep you posted.;)

Hi my Canadian brothers of the R.O.C.

I have discovered a way around this pricing issue for Genuine Honda Accessories... but this will only work if you live close enough to the USA border... I used this exact procedure last week and it worked like a charm!

Order the parts from the U.S. Honda Dealer of your choice... I used Majestic Honda - The Internet's #1 Honda Automotive Parts Store (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/) since they had the best price... maybe you want to use Genuine Honda Accessories, News, and Information from College Hills Honda (http://www.collegehillshonda.com/) or H and A Accessories dot com - Genuine Factory Honda and Acura Accessories at discount prices. Accessories made by Honda and Acura for your car (http://www.handa-accessories.com/)... it's totally up to you.

When filling in the shipping address I used a FedEx/ Kinko's Depot in the USA (close to the border) with instructions to "HOLD FOR PICK UP" by your own name. Then you can track the order on line at Shipping, Logistics Management and Supply Chain Management from FedEx (http://www.fedex.com) and when your parcel arrives- go pick them up personally. All you need is the tracking # and your Idenetification.

As I said, I did this myself last week. It just so happened I was heading to the USA anyway for a weekend camping trip. :)

Mortech, thanks for the tip. On larger and more heavier items, I also use a similar U.S. forwarding depot just south of the Plattsburgh,N.Y. border. Unfortunately, it's a P.I.A. when you come back thru the border and have to go inside Canada Customs to declare and pay the duty. The long lineups can sometimes kill you. Canada post charges $5.00 for this "brokerage fee" whenever delivering to your doorstep.

Combining a U.S. pick-up with a weekend getaway is a great idea~!:D

Actually I "installed" the parts right on my truck during my camping trip and used the packaging to start a campfire... so I didn't "declare" anything on my way back into Canada... LOL! :D

To top off the trip- I stopped at the Indian reserve near Lewiston, NY to buy some cheap gas! (If you can call $4.05/ gallon cheap that is... but is still WAY cheaper than 1.35/ liter in Canada which equals about $5.15/ gallon!)

Got another trip planned in a couple weeks... Hmmmm, what can I buy for my Ridge next....;)
