Jason B 08-24-2006, 08:20 PM More info and write-up on the link. Current special gets you a free pre-filter element, normally $30.

Yes, they are a fortune.

typesfanatik 09-03-2006, 07:51 PM thank you for the post. im awaiting to see what comptech comes up with but ill prob be getting this since injen has never failed me
hurleyint04 09-03-2006, 10:06 PM hows the injen performance gains compared to the rest out there?
Jason B 09-05-2006, 12:09 PM All the info is in the link/write-up above.
ONTHEVERGE 09-05-2006, 06:59 PM Interesting I am going to have to researcdh this as intake may be may next mod with exhaust
hurleyint04 09-06-2006, 12:56 AM haha yahh thats wat im about to do also
jojolimited 09-06-2006, 06:45 PM How did you test? Rear Wheel Horse Power? Since most of the power goes to the Front? Just wondering.
Jason B 09-06-2006, 06:49 PM All data is published data from manufactueres websites. : )
C25A1guy 09-19-2006, 03:02 AM The design of the Injen unit makes me wonder. Where exactly is it getting this "cold air" from? To me, it looks like a standard intake w/ a conacle filter and they just threw a box over it. I dunno.
Also another thing that I find suprising is how rich this engine runs. I understand it for hauling reasons (probably), but I'm sure more power can be extracted by leaning it out a bit. But then along with that, you'll be running a hotter engine so efforts to keep the engine cool is an issue that'll come into play.

Jason B/Burtman Industries,
Can you find out from Injen since you are a dealer? I have the same concerns as to why they call it a cold air system unless it uses the factory cold are like the AFE Stage 1 System.
Thanks,
Craig
Jason B 09-25-2006, 05:09 PM If you look at the install pic and where it's placed. The box houses the pre-filter and velocity stack, and the box acts as a heat shield... The placement of the box acually draws air in from the fender wall where the air is the coolest.

The stock system draws air from outside the engine compartment at the front of the hood. The fender wall is the "coolest"? I don't think so.
Jason B 09-25-2006, 05:41 PM The fenderwall is outside the engine bay. It also pulls in from the front, where the prefilter is, it's hard to see in the installed pic, but there is front opening behind the prefilter in the box. The dyno numbers are posted on injens site and this shows to be the most powerful at this time. The injen site will go into much more detail onhe velocity stack, air stabilizer, etc, for more info.
We have pretty much sold every intake known to man, so we aren't biased on any particular brand. To date, we've sold more K&N's than any, mainly due to the K&N giving more power than the others, but now the injen has even more gain, but of course with a higher price tag.
HAWAIIRL 09-25-2006, 06:06 PM Yes, it is hard to tell from the pics exactly what is left from the stock system. The dyno is from a 2005 Mustang 4.0 V-6 and they state up to 12 HP and 10lbs of torque. It does look like a nice, promising system it's too bad they won't put more information to make a good, informed decision. Thanks to all the folks here that are willing to be the first to try and post the results.
KK'sRidge 09-28-2006, 04:02 PM doesn't TMac have a Injen. I posted on the other thread that mounting in the back how do you get the cold air? Off the header? Do you just block off the factory air intake so all the dust and debris doesn't get pointed directly at the Injen filter. I would like to have one of these but I'm trying to figure out if the price justifys it. What about the cat backs do you see a gain with them? If its just the sound I could spend about 100 on a muffler for the sound. Its not like i'm drag racing or anything I just want a little more umpftt
FL_Ridge 09-28-2006, 06:06 PM I think Mythbusters should do a "scientific" test on whether or not aftermarket intakes make a difference in horsepower or economy.
I also question any/all manufacturers that are rating gains in RWHP as another member mentioned.
The front wheels get most of the power, but the vehicle is constantly in all wheel drive mode. Right?
Jason B 10-21-2006, 12:23 PM From first
Jason B 09-16-2008, 06:09 PM From first hand the K&N's we've sold have all been praised with gains and more MPG. Recent review by a customer that I thinks post on this forum is below. Scroll near bottom:
