Anyone have a few pictures to post? thanks Truckin' 09-17-2006, 12:07 AM Hi, You'll find lots of great photos on this thread: http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1295&highlight=retrax+install There is some room under the cannister that would still allow for some sheets of plywood to lie flat and go clear up to the front bed wall. You'll find that most of us who got the Retrax love it. SIMPLY DAVE 01-17-2007, 03:55 PM Cool! Hey I got some basic questions to ask that have already have been answer I'm sure but don't have the time to read thru thread after thread . . . 1. Is the Retrax lockable? 2. Does it vibrate and make a lot of noise during high speeds? 3. Judging from the pictures it doesn't take up that much space (about torso width, my torso anyway . . haha). I'd be using it for road trips, camping trips etc. and need all my stuff covered 4. Any honest complaints with the retrax? 5. Anyone have a Retrax that lives in Orange County California? I'd love to see one in action before I make a decision. 6. Lastly, I have a friend of a friend who works for honda and can get about half off of all honda accessories . . . with that being said should I just go for the Honda hard top cover? Thanks again. Oh and by the way I am finally an RL owner!! Yeah-baby-Yeah! kdogofjtown 01-17-2007, 04:27 PM 1. Is the Retrax lockable? -yes it has a key lock system on the back drivers side that locks in any position -closed, half open, fully retracted- but remember the tailgate does not lock 2. Does it vibrate and make a lot of noise during high speeds? -had mine a month and no noise- in the rear view mirror you can see it shimmy at high speeds but even if I shut off the radio and open the sliding glass window I have never been able to hear any noises 3. Judging from the pictures it doesn't take up that much space (about torso width, my torso anyway . . haha). I'd be using it for road trips, camping trips etc. and need all my stuff covered -it takes up a lot less room than I expected 4. Any honest complaints with the retrax? -install will take two people and if you are mechanically ignorant like I am about two to three hours- others have had it on in one to two hours 5. Anyone have a Retrax that lives in Orange County California? I'd love to see one in action before I make a decision. -sorry I live in PA My wife got mine for a christmas gift and it has been great. Looks good, easy install, locks. The trunk opening is limited by the guide rails on the truck but it is so minimal I hardly notice it. My only issue is the tailgate does not lock so the wife also got a dyno lock for the tailgate but I have not been able to find someone who could install it yet. I have never seen the OEM cover but I am very pleased with the retrax. | |
