ATV's

Who has them and what do you have. Give be your opinions. I am looking at a utility between a 500-700.
I am trying to decide on Can-Am 650, Yamaha Grizzly 700 with EFI and power steering. Those are the main 2 but am studying the others as well.

Walking by all the new bikes on the way to the parts counter is always really fun for us, a little dangerous, but fun. The Can-Am’s, and everything from the “big four” have all the things you could possibly want in an ATV so you can’t go wrong. It is simply a matter of personal tastes. Have you looked at the new side by sides as well? My kid brother recently bought a new Yamaha Rhino and mounted two seats in the bed so four of us can go virtually anywhere the quads roam.

Re: ATV's

Ron, that is nice....its like a beefed up golf cart. Don't mind taking that to Palm Springs to play golf and then off road to a near by desert or Joshua Nation park

Re: ATV's

It's hard to answer your question without knowing what you want it for. What do you want it for?

Re: ATV's

I will be riding it in SC & NC. I will be using it for hunting and trail riding and playing in the mud. Not for a work horse.

I have 2 Hondas, a Rancher ES 350 and a Recon ES 250 for the wife. We use them at our Hunting lease and they are excellent to get around on. Had an 88 Jeep Wrangler out there that would go anywhere anytime in any weather condition but my body finally surrendered
I also have a Polar Sport utility trailer that I pull behind them to carry feed, firewood, critters and gear and love it. It has ATV tires and is real quite compared to the metal ones you normally see.
What ever you get, I think you will enjoy it.

Re: ATV's

I have 2 of them,,,a suzuki king quad and a yami 700 efi with power steering. I have found atving to be one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done. The king quad 700 has been rock solid with no issues,,,the yami is kinda new to evaluate but has not had an issue yet. Whatever you get you will have a blast on.

Re: ATV's

Colorado,

Those are the 2 that I am trying to decide between. Can you give me a pros and cons comparison between the 2. Speed, roll, out of the hole, in the mud and manuverability.

The yahama wins hand down as the best to date that has ever hit the market. The power steering is beyond amazing and the ride is great, very comfortable. I can steer in and out of anything and the engine braking blows me away. That being said the power band on the yami is better than the king but the kings topend is better. yami does about 64 mph where i can get 72 out of the king but why the hell would you ever want to go that fast anyway. The king is a good grand less expensive and has been around awhile which translates into all the bugs being worked out though i have yet to see any on the yami to date,,,There is a great websight to go to and you will find out all the information pros and cons on both as well as others NYROCATV.COM just go to the forum section,,,read away

Re: ATV's

I've got the Yamaha Kodiak 450. I have to say I really like the look and sound of the EFI 700 Grizzly. I took a Polaris 800 EFI out for a quick ride the other day and that was pretty sweet. I couldn't do much with it because the owner was still breaking it in. The thing I hate the most about it is the shift lever. It's about 3 feet long and difficult to move. I've also driven the 660 Grizzly and it was leaps and bounds better than the Kodiak. The thing that bugs me about the Yamaha ATVs are the many small plastic panels. They stop aligning and start buzzing after only a few months. I'd also suggest camo if you don't mind adding a few hundred to the bottom line. It seems that the camo just doesn't scratch.

Good luck in making your decision and make sure to post pictures!
