Re: Chelsea McGruff the crime fighting dog
Great Story! Chelsea is a great dog. Your neighbors should get together and give her a doggy treat. I do have a problem with you following the perp. How did you know her boyfriend, or her for that matter, didn't have a gun. I'm thinking call 911 first. Just my opinion.
I'm glad everything and everybody is safe. Good Job Chelsea! ![]()

Re: Chelsea McGruff the crime fighting dog
My mom was this little portuguese woman who if she got mad, she acted first and then thought of the consequences. Unfortunately I took after her in that department. I followed at a safe distance both times to see where she went. I also know now that she lives with here mother. I know most of the tenants of the apartment, except for new arrivals. Now my duty is to call the sheriffs when I see her, they will come out and I put her under citizens arrest and they take her off to jail. My neighbor who suffered the theft has already filed a report. Another day and another tweaker to get rid of from our neighborhood.

Re: Chelsea McGruff the crime fighting dog
Be sure to give Chelsea an extra biscuit. This reminds of what happened several years ago. One night out of a sound sleep, both my wife and I were awakened by our dog, Beamer, who was outside our bedroom window making for lack of a better term, whispering growls. Very low and very quiet woofs. When I went outside Beamer trotted over to me, gave another quiet woof then walked over to our side yard wall and stood up on his hind legs at the wall, then looked back at me. When I walked over to the wall, I was able to look over it and saw three people in a jeep. Two teens got out and ran across the street to two different homes and grabbed stuff from the cars and garages, then run back to the jeep. As it drove off, I was able to get the license number and police later arrested three 16-year-olds for theft. I was always amazed that Beamer chose not to bark to scare them away, but chose to wake me up so I could do my part of the job of protecting our family. Beamer has since passed on to his reward, but he will always hold a special place in my heart.

Re: Chelsea McGruff the crime fighting dog
When I was a kid we had a beagle that was the worst watch dog. Hardly ever barked, and if it did it was at the wrong time. One night the dog was losing her mind. Barking, growling, and pacing in front of the door. We yelled at her and told her to shut up.
The next morning, our bicycles were missing from the front porch! Good dog. Dopey owners.

Re: Chelsea McGruff the crime fighting dog
It's amazing how many great dog stories you hear. I'm enjoying reading these. We have 2 cats, they never gave me any good stories.
I guess that's why you never hear about fluffy the grime fighting cat!
