Goodbye my friend.

Well after over 15 years, we helped Wolfie into his final sleep last Tuesday. It has been a week now and my wife and I still call for him, she even started breakfast for him this morning. It is the hardest thing I think I have ever done.

Our vet was kind enough to come to our house so he could be comfortable and not be scared. We are waiting on his ashes to be returned to us.

Love your pets!

Robert

Re: Goodbye my friend.

I feel your pain. We had to put down a much beloved Mini-Schnauzer some 18 months ago, still think of her often......They truly become part of a family.....

Re: Goodbye my friend.

My deepest sympathies to you and your wife, robh2. It's never easy losing a member of the family... but luckily you have your memories (and I'm sure hundreds of pictures) to keep wolfie's spirit alive. Listen to LadyRidge... if you haven't read the Rainbow Bridge, do so soon. Keep it close to your heart. All my best.

Re: Goodbye my friend.

Sorry to hear that. I had my companion for 13 years before I had to put her down for bad hips. It was by far the hardest thing I've had to do so far. It is also why I will never have another. My condolences.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. That was wonderful of your vet to come to your house.

Re: Goodbye my friend.

My condolences. We just put down our Family Friend Buffy. She was an abandoned street dog we took in over 11 yrs ago and weren't sure of her age.
I'm sure they are all playing in heaven together.

Goodbye my friend.

Rob,

I suggest that you put wolfie on the computer screen saver and desktop. It makes me feel our Lhasa is still with me.

Good luck.

Re: Goodbye my friend.

R.I.P. Wolfie.. you obviously meant a lot to your family.

I'm sure you'll always have a special place in their hearts.

I had 2 wonderful cats for about 7-8 years and had to give them up for adoption several years ago. I do not know what ever happened to them and it kills me to this day. I always hope they found a family to care for them.

They were spoiled rotten, and know it must have been hard for them.

On a lighter note, after many years without a furball in the house..

the wife and I just adopted a terrier from the pound. I like to think we saved a life.

I hope she's as wonderful as I'm sure Wolfie was.. only in a smaller package.
Wolfie sure was a handsome fellow.
