All CAL ROC Meet II

OK CAL ROC'ers, The 2nd Annual SoCal Meet is history and I am teasing your taste buds for the next great Ridgeline Meet for Californians and those who wish to join us.

I have already chatted with Linda Khan (khanartist) and the ball is rollin. We can use info on hotels from last years post and we will need to include campground info for those who want to pull there trailers.

Also, I and or Linda will be looking into a group activity to the Monterey Aquarium while we are there instead of the 17 Mile Drive in Carmel, unless you wish to do that again?

I would like all of you to think about having the 2008 ALL CAL ROC MEET somewhere above San Francisco and the 2009 ALL CAL ROC MEET in SoCal (Long Beach). I feel it's only fair that CenCal put some long mileage on their Ridgelines like we in NorCal and SoCal do!

If you have any ideas or suggestions to make this meet a bigger better success, please don't be silent, all have an input and we can poll it and see what happens. See you all at a CAL Meet soon!

Here's the lodging info from last year. Call for current rates!

Hello CAL ROC,

I have been researching lodging in the Santa Cruz Area and have come up with 3 choices. I based the choices on the price of gas to travel, price of lodging, and proximity to the boardwalk and downtown. We could all stay in one location and rent out most of the rooms! Please review the choices and submit your input please.....

Re: All CAL ROC Meet II

The best campground I see listed in the Trailer Life Directory is as follows:

Cotillion Gardens RV Park
(831) 335-7669
300 Old Big Trees Road
Felton, CA 95018

"In the Santa Cruz Mountains, next to San Lorenzo River and Cowell Redwood State Park. Minutes to Boardwalk, wharf, ocean fishing, surfing, beach, gourmet dinining etc. Adjacent to Roaring Camp Railroad." (which is a very cool place that a bunch of us from SoCal went last year after the meet)

Reservations must be made by phone. (831) 335-7669. You get a 10% discount if you pay by check or cash. Anyone interested should check it out.

Dan

I think i was the model CENCAL Ridge from this last SoCal Meet! It was A great drive, and great time to see all of you! As far as 2008, for a San Fran or above San Fran, How far were you thinking? Like Golden Gate Bridge far(San Rafael is on the other side of the Golden Gate) Would be kewl to drive the Golden gate with all our Ridges on a weekend. A lot of Walking tourists are on that bridge. Or thinking a Tour of Alcatraz?? Just a few thoughts or Ideas for NEXT year! But as for This coming Sept 29th 2007 ALL CAL MEET II, i do like the idea of Meeting in Santa Cruz again and Parking($10) in that spot by the coconut bowl @ the Boardwalk. This time, I WILL BE ON TIME!! Oh, Linda, i think the SUMMIT was a great idea for a meet/Gathering, like last year(the 1 i missed!) Looks like a big enough area for some of those driving south for the meet. Something to keep in mind, i suppose. ok, Cant WAIT!! MARKED THE Calendar already!!

Bill, don't look at the dates on the hotel listings, those are from last year! ALL CAL ROC THIS YEAR is on the Saturday, September 29, 2007 but I will make a weekend of it and be there on Friday, the 28th. and do a Raider Game on that Sunday if they are in town.

Re: All CAL ROC Meet II

Why do all of these meetings have to be so far away from me? Well I know for sure I cannot go to this one Only if a miracle happens and my parents would let me travel across the state to get there. Maybe next year you guys can try and plan a meet a bit closer to me :P

Re: All CAL ROC Meet II

Dreshden, we just had a ROC meet this past Saturday at Capistrano Beach in Orange County. We had 13 Ridgelines and about 26 people in all. You missed a great time.
