Dear Honda: BUY MY TRUCK BACK. IT SUCKS

I'm so sick and tired of having B.S. problems with my ridgeline. It seems that every couple of weeks, a new problem pops up. Does customer service mean absolutely nothing these days? I'm convinced I could find better service at a damn kia dealership. Stand behind your products and make these problems right. This is my 2nd honda, and likely my last if my issues aren't resolved. I think honda's customer service is absolutely pathetic!!!!! Two thumbs down!

Buy My Truck Back. It Sucks

Please, tell the rest of us what the problems are, and Honda's response to them. A generic IT SUCKS, is not very descriptive.

As if having my tranny replaced after 1694 miles wasn't enough, and the fact that my truck won't hold an alignment, but now it wont' start properly. It won't turn over and my mileage is crap. At first i thought it wasn't getting enough spark but that can't be it if the mileage is dipping off. I called honda and they said it's likely the valve that recirculates the gas fumes while the truck is off. They said it's likely stuck open, causing it to preload the intake and flood the engine. This is just ridiculous. I love my truck, but I hate it at the same time. Has anyone had this issue? My truck hasn't thrown a cel or anything which i find odd. I'm getting tired of having to take this damn truck to honda every couple of weeks for new problems.
This above is from the Dude. We are still waiting to hear how your negotiations with Honda worked out Dude, good luck.

Sounds like you've had some serious problems. If they are legit, Honda will work with you on it. Ask to speak to a regional rep if you have to.

Re: Dear Honda: BUY MY TRUCK BACK. IT SUCKS

thanks tmac

I will do that. I'm trying to stay cool about this but it's just one thing after another and I really believe i got a lemon. I would not be opposed to a replacement truck b/c ...well frankly i love the ridgeline, i just hate this particular one. Problems so far....

-transmission failure at 1694 miles.....replaced, problem never found
-alignment issues.........realigned, problem still persists
-starting problems/poor mileage (11/15).......to be determined friday
-creaky steering............................to be determined friday
-damage to front end caused by dealer negligence............repaired and poorly repainted.
- wind noise from windshield........................nothing done

Now mind you, i took delivery of my RTL on 7/25/06 and it has 4,412 miles on it as she sits. Maybe i could see these problems at 100k but not now.

1. Transmission - that's a bummer. Fluke? Sounds like it was fixed, so shouldn't be a beef.
2. Alignment - see the TSB. Sounds like a dealer issue, not Honda.
3. Starting - haven't heard of that one. Please update after Friday.
4. Creaky steering - see TSB.
5. Front end damage - absolutely a dealer issue, not Honda.
6. Wind noise - see TSB.

Sounds like most of your frustration is due to the dealer you're going to. Maybe it's time to try another. As for the actual Ridgeline issues - I feel your pain, but chalk it up to buying a first year vehicle. Said I would never do it, but figured I would be safe with Honda. Now I won't do it again. As long as the fixes are taken care of, I'll be good.

Re: Dear Honda: BUY MY TRUCK BACK. IT SUCKS

I have been trying to get action out of Honda customer service for six months. Nothing. Mine has been in the shop 14 times in 11 months.

You will have to take them to court to get any action. Beware they will retaliate when able. After they recieved my complaints from the BBB and Consumer Safety Protection Agency, they told the dealership not to address my problems anymore. That is a whole other lawsuit.

After several phone request to speak to a supervisor, 6 faxes and 4 letters with the same request because the assigned lady (Vicki Hernandez) was not doing a thing, No supervisor has ever responded.

There are a lot of lawyers that take lemon vehicle cases free of charge to you. It will take 6 - 12 months before Honda is forced to take any action.

Good luck!!

Re: Dear Honda: BUY MY TRUCK BACK. IT SUCKS

If you contact customer service I would recommend recording all calls. They do a recording notification at the start of every call that you originate. I think that this should fufill the legal requirement for recording notification (different from state to state).

I wish that I had recorded my calls to American Honda customer service. They will not provide anything in writting and will change their answer when it is in their best interest to do so!! It is my opinion that Honda customer service is not on the side of the customer. At least my experiance with them was not good!

Re: Dear Honda: BUY MY TRUCK BACK. IT SUCKS

My experience with Honda customer service has been the most horrible that I have ever experienced.

For that reason alone I will probably never buy another Honda. My horror stories have changed 9 peoples minds about buying a Honda so far.
