Windshield chipping (3rd windshield with only 9K on truck)

I only have 9K on the truck and I am on the third windshield from chipping which lead to cracks...The latest windshield has lots of wind noise...It is very discouraging....

Anybody else have trouble with chipping?

Anybody have wind noise after windshield is replaced?

Re: Windshield chipping (3rd windshield with only 9K on truck)

I took a stone in the windshield the first week I had my truck. I was able to just get the chip filled before a major crack started.

Ditto, made me mad too !! My last vehicle had so many stone chips it looked like glass art. I was so excited to have a new RL, with a new windshield, and then got a stone chip the first week

Re: Windshield chipping (3rd windshield with only 9K on truck)

I got a small chip in the middle of my windshield back around December, it has not gotten any larger.

I am just waiting for the warmer weather to come before I get the windshield replaced.

The RL is pretty typical for vehicles I have owned in the past, at least one windshield replacement per vehicle. However I drive the RL 2x-3x more miles in a year than any vehicle I have ever owned before.

I got a chip very quickly as well. Haven't had that problem in any other vehicle.

Re: Windshield chipping (3rd windshield with only 9K on truck)

Our Ridgeline's windshield got the first chip before our first oil change! My Bronco has 188,000 miles on it with the original windshield... no chips, dings or errors. I suspect the glass is not as durable as it could be on the Ridgeline.

Re: Windshield chipping (3rd windshield with only 9K on truck)

I got a small chip out of the line of site, shortly after getting the truck.

It has not grown, so I'll leave it as it is. I'd rather not have a windshield replacement if I can help it.
