Telescoping steering wheel

Dear Honda: The Ridgeline is a great, versatile vehicle. I only have one complaint after 2 years and 32,000 miles. I can't get comfortable while driving due to the lack of a telescoping steering wheel. My 96' Acura RL had it. How much would it cost to install that system on the Ridgeline? Very little probably. As soon as you upgrade that steering wheel I will trade in my RTL for a new one

Re: Telescoping steering wheel

Hmm... you say you have the RTL right? So do I. I've just spent the last 3 weeks with 5500 miles. I've found that if I drop the seat all the way to the bottom and then lift up the front of the seat while keeping the back down I get better leg room. You'll have to adjust the back of the seat of course because that will tip back but for me that really helped on the long drive days.

Gary Flint stated at the St. Louis meet (and I think previously posted by others on this forum) that a telescoping steering wheel is not possible with a column shifter. (As I remember it anyway). Seating positions are as individual as the individuals trying to find a one! I hope you find one too.

Re: Telescoping steering wheel

Seems to me I remember having an '87 Coupe de Ville that had a column shifter with a tilt and telescopic wheel. I also had a '94 Eldorado with a floor shifter and no telescopic wheel. Go figure!

'87 highly unlikely.

As Ed McMahon would have said in 1987: "You, sir, are correct!"

No need to worry about an air bag.

Re: Telescoping steering wheel

Unlikely perhaps, but true. Check this URL as well as the one posted by geotech.

Your are correct on the column shifter per Gary's comments.
