I'd love a high / low beam switch that is foot operated... like it used to be and that was so easy to use.
I beleive the reason that highbeams switches are no longer on the floor are that people with disabilities and the corrosion factor. I helped a friend replace his highbeam floor mounted switch twice in four years due to corrosion.

Re: Headlight switch position

Yep... it takes a couple weeks to get used to!! After driving an Accord for 15 years some habits are hard to break....

We just bought a Civic that I had been driving... Jump in the RL and I could not get the washer to work!! Kept twisting for Mist!! ooops gotta hit that button on the side!!

Yep some habits are just hard to break!!

Doh, didn't think of it that way. Hmm, but a company like Honda could figure out how to get the wiring and other apparatus inside the car and make reliable and not a rust issue, but that wouldn't make easy for people with leg problems. I'd have to agree, I'd find it easier to switch the stalk based light switch with an arm cast than a floor mounted switch with a leg cast... and it doesn't stop me from wanting the floor based switch. But, you're probably headed more towards the stronger common sense argument for the placing of the switch.

Hmmm...turning on the headlights, and later turning on the cargo lights. Maybe you have "Restless Leg Syndrome!"

Just kidding. I have also turned on the headlights when getting out of my RL. And I'm 5' 10" tall. The headlight deal doesn't happen to just tall people.

Another issue....on my '03 Accord, the headlight switch is on the end of the turn signal stalk. So far, I've turned on the windshield wipers 3 times in my RL thinking I was turning on the headlights.
