Re: Hooks for grocery bags, BADLY needed

Glad to hear that. I'll try them too. I also like mesh idea. I have an old mesh thingy from one of wife's GM SUV's. I'll try that also - like the idea of hanging it from head rests.

Back in the 80's, I had a ChevyVan. When I'd take my 2yearold son to Grandmas, his toys went with us in one of those nylon mesh nets that were designed to hang in the shower, to drain pool toys. I'd just hook one end of the net over the top of my driver's seat. On more than one occasion, I remember putting a couple grocery bags in the net, and they were held very securely, but the thing did swing a bit going around bends and corners. I'm sure that if I'd really wanted it to be more secure, a couple bungees or ropes could have been used to hook the bottom of it to the seat pedestal. The net was an inexpensive item that we got in the "pool toy" aisle at KMart.
hmmmm... sounds like a plan...

I'm thinking something like the cargo net from the Pilot might work just fine in the back seat area of the Ridge with seats up.

Re: Hooks for grocery bags, BADLY needed

Here, get one of these. I just pop it open and fold up the passenger seat. It will hold about 9 plastic bags and eliminates the need to make 22 trips in when you get home. They run $7 on Amazon or $2 at your local flea market. I have been using them for years.

They fold to a little circle and are totally flat and will fit in either a seat back or in the trunk. They come in 6 colors that will satisfy even the most discriminating shopper. Problem solved.

There are also some grocery bag hooks in the trunk area too, along the rear edge/ledge part. I learned this by RTFM. It always helps to RTFM or SEARCH.

If I just RTFM, I wouldn't have the opportunity to post & get acquainted with you folks.

Thanks for the informative posts, everyone. I'm so accustomed to setting things in the rear captain's seats for small store runs, getting used to the RL is pretty bad in that regard. I put the center divider down in the back, hoping that would allow me to set stuff in the rear seats for the short drive home, but hitting the brakes makes for projectiles, then once there is stuff on the floor, it rolls around unimpeded.

I'm going to spend some time getting familiar with it this weekend, for sure.

So, when you get a vehicle, you don't read the instruction manual at all then? Seriously when I get a new vehicle I read the manual thoroughly and learn new things that "others" overlook. I bought my Ridgeline at night on a Saturday, and the NEXT DAY I dove into the manual at work between calls.

Sorry for sounding harsh, but the Ridgeline has a LOT that is in the owners manual. I don't mind helping people out, but I found the hooks even without looking in the manual.

Those hooks on the back of the center console down below the vents that you can put grocery bags on, or use as internal tie-downs for light loads.

Sadly the hooks don't work well for keeping somebody tied down across the backseat area of the truck with the seats up. Don't ask how I know, I just found out with some "family" assistance.
