I removed the screws that hold the rear seat cushions and replaced them with crome coat hooks. This works great. You need longer screws and be sure to fill the cavity space with washers. This will pull the seat cushion tight and not cause the plastic to crack.

I got them, thanks! I am definitely going to do this! Thank you for posting about your mod, and for getting some pictures taken! I know I won't be the only one who appreciates it!

Schoenig: I drilled a new hole in the center the size of the screw for the seat. I do not remember the size but, if you take the original to the hardware store they can tell you. It is metric.

Schoenig: I cut a piece of 3/8 copper tubing to take up the space and serve as a backup. This ensures that there is no pressure on the plastic seat bottom.
