Vent Adjusters Backseat

SIR

I LOVE my 2006 Ridgeline, but I have a miner complant. The back vent adjuster have been knocked off very easy when I put my kayaking equipment(clothing changes and other gear) in the back seat. As I am loading or unloading I hit these little handles and they just pop off. It probably would be best to resess these two small handles so when you use the back seat area for equipment you can't knock them off.

I think the Driver side vents should be horizontal & not vertical. They just look out of place as the passenger side is horizontal.

Totally agree! AND the inside vents should have variable controls to adjust flow like the outside vents do! What's up with not having that?

Re: Vent Adjusters Backseat

I've knocked my rear vent adjusters off three times. Twice putting something into the back seat and once when my son kicked them. The good thing is I know how to get them back on rather quickly now. I use a small, right-angle mechanic's pick to hold the retaining clip in place while pushing the adjuster back on. They certainly could have been designed more rugged.

Re: Vent Adjusters Backseat

There are some posts about this with some picks. I used two allen wrenches to get mine back on.

Vent direction control popped off

Re: Vent Adjusters Backseat

Not a good design but, a good idea IMO. My adjuster has been knocked off too. I just left it off. Vent still works fine. Bad location for anyone who has kids as they tend to sit where their feet can easily kick the vents.

Re: Vent Adjusters Backseat

I made a tool for this out of coat hanger wire it is basically a u shape and I rolled over the 2 tops of the u about a 1/4 inch - this thing hook behind the vent thing so I can snap the kno0b back on. Works slick! They should fix this.
