Re: Got a problem with honda service?? Let out your frustration

they finally said they had the parts after we told them that we were going to talk to the GM (we have known the GM for 18+ years), now my appointment is on monday, if what you guys are saying is true that honda doesnt offer remote starts on there cars then what the hell am i getting?? is it going to be an aftermarket remote start like the brand Python or is it going to be the same as on the Accords, Civics, & CR-V's?? guess i'll find out monday, i will post some pictures when i get the car

but if you guys saw the car when it was delivered you would be as pissed off as i am:

the car was dirty inside and out
there were scratches in the bed
the va state inspection was for december
it needed an alignment
not a full tank of gas
water stains all over the car
the in-bed trunk was dirty, it had dust, dirt, pollen, and leaves in it
there was still plastic wrap in the inside

and the salesman said he will take car of all that when i bring it in, and give me a free tank of gas

Re: Got a problem with honda service?? Let out your frustration

When I bought mine they had to order the accessories i wanted too. none were in stock, but fortunately they have a huge warehouse a few towns away so they get everything same day or next day, depending on the time the order is placed. ALl kinda depends on your location and where the parts are coming from.

Want to find out? walk into another Honda dealer close by and ask for the same parts and an estimate on how long it will take to get them. that should tell you if they are BS'ing or not

I would have been pissed off about the gas and the alignment but that's it. My truck looked far worse than yours when I got it. The bed wasn't scratched but I don't care about that. It is after all a truck and I use my truck as a truck so I knew I would scratch it. When it was delivered, it was totally filthy. It too also has the plastic wrap inside the truck.

I told them to leave it like that. Why? Most dealership detailers in my area are about 18 years old and take about the same amount of pride in their work as they do their 9th grade education. I saw the job that they did on a Pilot 3 days before I took delivery of my RL and frankly it scared the piss out of me.

I can wash my truck myself thank you very much. If I wanted scratches, I'd take it to the mall and leave it in the front of the parking lot for a couple of days.

I have had my truck at the dealer twice. I ask them not to wash it. I don't trust car washes that I haven't previously tested with my company car and I don't trust dealership detailers. Touchless car washes don't get your vehicle clean. The only ones that work in my experience are the ones that have some sort of foam brushes.

I have had my truck through a commercial car wash less than 10 times in 2 years and it shows. All you need is some guy to go thru the car wash before you that went mudding who has mud encrusted stones all over his truck to ruin your paint job. They get caught in the brushes. It's about the same as running your truck through a huge belt sander.

I had a friend who suffered this unfortunate fate... in his BMW M3. Have you ever seen a grown man cry? I have because he did that day. I would call it a fluke but he needed $8k in paint and bodywork after that fateful day.

Some things are best left to those who care the most about it. The car washing responsibility falls directly into my court. Thats the way I like it.

Send a letter direct to Honda Headquarters in your area, and copy your dealership. Parts are very important to manufacturers overall profit. They want to hear about experiences like yours.

First ... I don't understand folks that take delivery of a new car in less than perfect condition ? You're the customer, not them ... if they can't have enough pride in their product to have it perfect for the customer then they don't deserve your business. Secondly ... is there a rule on here regarding identifying lousy dealerships ? I've seen folks naming the good ones but I very seldom see the bad ones identified. If bad dealerships were pointed out by name they might actually try to improve, but at the very least anyone checking the forum before they buy would be forewarned.

the guy we know there just called an is mad at us because we gave them a bad rating on the honda survey, he was saying they lost there 10% bonus, and they were saying that it will all be taken care of when we bring the car back for the option parts to be installed on the truck, lets see what happens im picking it up tomorrow

All sales people try to coerce the customer into a good/excellent rating for the dealership. Problem is they don't always want to earn it. I'm surprised at your Honda dealer--usually thats a tactic I see at domestic auto dealers.
