Honda Tonneau issue and rep

Wow! Do I have a great dealership but the district rep is a jerk. The hinges and metal braces on my 2 year old HONDA installed tonneau cover are rusting to hell. The service manager actually was more upset than I was when he saw it. Rep wanted to know why I had taken so long to show it to them... Then found out those parts could NOT be ordered seperately - had to have a whole new tonneau - district rep said he would not replace the whole tonneau under warranty - my service manager found one on the lot on a used Ridgeline that was still fine and switched them out at no charge. I will still follow up on this to Honda - only have about 30k on the truck.

Re: Honda Tonneau issue and rep

They replaced mine last summer for the same reason. First the service told me "fat chance we will replace it for free" It's a $1200.00 profit maker. They need to contact the accessories group. When ROC was in St Louis they replaced 2 other one's. If they could of located one more they would have done mine then. Push for a new top.

If you had it installed when you purchased your RL, then it is under the full warranty as your RL. That is the rule.

Re: Honda Tonneau issue and rep

geez - thought I posted this on here but don't see it - anyway when they switched the tonneaus, I asked for the key to the tonneau I just got and gave him the key to my old tonneau...some reason I looked at the two keys and they matched....tried them in the locks on both covers and they BOTH worked in each lock - even had the same number on the key. Did they put the same lock on all the tonneau covers? oh yeah, and the lock in my original tonneau had been replaced because it froze up...
